Okay everyone! You have been saving seeds, right? Are you ready to swap?  grinnnn

Here are the details.

Everyone who wishes to be involved will send the seeds they want to include in the swap to me. When the deadline rolls around, I will then swap the seeds around, and mail your new seeds back to you.  ThumbUp

All types of seeds are welcome; flowers, veggies, trees, shrubs, vines, ect.

Please include at leat 25 seeds in each pack, unless they are small seeds, then the general "rule" is 1/8 tsp. of seeds in each packet. If it's a rare or hard to come by seed, less than 25 is okay, but please be sure to note that on the packet.

Please label each packet with the name of the seeds, and as much info as you can about growing requirements like sun or shade, plant height, ect.

Also put your screen name on each packet, so if there are questions or problems with your seed, we can take care of them.

You may send in as many packets as you would like, but please no more than 10 packets of the same type of seeds. You will get back roughly the same number you sent in.

Mail your seeds to me in a padded (bubble) envelope. Include postage to return the envelope to you.

You may also include a brief (5-10 item) wish list of seeds...I will do my best to get you a few off the list.

The deadline for seeds to reach me will be January 31, 2008. My plan is to get them out right after that, so we all gat a nice suprise in our mailboxes around valentine's day. 9536

If you would like to be included, please sign up in this thread and I will PM you my address. grinnnn

I have added you both to my list. ThumbUp

Even if you only have one or two types of seeds, please feel free to join in! I have quite a stash of seeds here myself that I will be mixing into the swap, and chances are great that I will be sending back more seeds than you send in.

Everyone is welcome to join! If you don't start trading now, how are you going to build up your collection of plants? flower

Hi Barleychown,

I've got a question.  Do you want me to just send in a label and stamps for the ones I sent in or do I need to send in a large envelope too?  I'm just thinking it would be cheaper if you could recycle the envelope the seeds came in.  Let me know which you need and I'll get on it right away.

I don't mind reusing the same envelope at all. A label and stamps will work wonderfully. ThumbUp

I would like to get in on the seedy action!  I've got some seeds that I have harvested myself and others that I've got in trades and swaps, is it okay to use those?

You may, as long as you are as sure as you can be that they are good seeds. If they came from someone you know and trust, or from a swap that tracks participants, it should be fine.

Alrighty, I'll see what I can contribute.  For the record, if I don't get as many seeds back as I sent in, that is a very good thing.  I've got too many as it is!

Rita, you had me worried for a minute!  The limit is January 30th and I'm waiting until after all my school-PTA business is done and Christmas is over with before I even think about my seeds.  I almost panicked that I had missed the deadline!  laughmao

I saw that this topic was moving down the page and thought we should probably pin it so folks wouldn't forget about it.  I also added it to the index page as a news item.

Rita, when I needed the little ziplock baggies for something, I found them in the craft department at WalMart...

I've heard that you can get them in some craft stores/departments.  Me I just use copy paper cut into little pieces that I can make little envelopes with and put the seeds in there.  That way I don't have to use labels on the ziplocks or try to put slips of paper in them with the seed information on them.  That never works because the seeds get infront of the piece of paper and then you don't know what they are.

But that's just me.
