There was a recipe for making stained glass sugar cookies a while back and I thought I had it.  But I just looked and I don't have the recipe.  Do any of you have it?  I really want to try them this year.

I have seen them Duh, but will have to look through my cookie books to find it.  I think they would be a lot of fun to try as well.

That was fast Wrennie... looks like a keeper.   I think the kids would have a blast with this one and not just with stars.

And when you give them to someone they think it's realllly clever. I've heard of them being made into edible ornaments too.

Hey, Duh sorry it took so long for me to get back to you but I had a long day at school.  Hee is my recipe for the Stained Glass Cookies.  Actually, these are a lot of fun to make and they are always a big hit.  yesssss Everybody loves them.  I used to make them when the kids were still living at home and with this recipe these are the kind that can be eaten.   Wink

Stained Glass Cookies

Ingredients:
1 cup margarine
1 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup honey
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
5 cup flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
hard candies such as lollipops or life savers.

Directions:
Mix the margarine, shortening, sugar, honey, eggs and vanilla.  Add flour, soda and salt.  Add flour and chill the dough overnight.  Roll out dough on waxed paper.  Cut the shapes with cookie cutters.  Then cut out areas for "windows".   Place the cookies on a well-greased cookie sheet or parchment paper lined cookie sheet.  Bake for 4 to 5 minutes.  Remove from oven, fill the openings with crushed hard candies or a whole life saver.  Bake at 350 degrees for 4 to 5 minutes or until candy is melted and cookies are just turning tan around the edges.

Let cookies cool for 5 minutes before removing them from the cookie sheet.
