programs

thought I'd start a subtopic here on fun programs people might want to use.

I'll concentrate on FREE licences, and try to keep them educational or helpful in some way.

the first one:

NASA TV--
A Vista gadget that will let you view in the sidebar or on your desktop in fullscreen the NASA TV station.

And speaking of NASA.  I once took an anstronmy class while at college.  The instructor took us out to Lake Sonoma one evening and set up these HUGE telescopes.  I got to see Saturn, and the Pleaties (spelling?), and oh, man what I saw! It was beautiful!

Anyways, one of the things I discovered way back then is a website done by NASA called, "Astronomy picture of the day."

Every single day NASA displays a new photo (and archives the old stuff for perusal) for folks to view.  They put a little blurb on it so you can learn about what you are seeing if you want to.
Every morning, my son and I, before he left for school, he would sit on my lap and we'd check out the photo, and I'd try to explain to him what he was seeing.  He really loved the time.
Check it out, you won't be sorry!!!!

today is the Emission Nebula!! Ooooooo, Ahhhhhhh!!!!

How are you?  I'm great!  Glad to see you! Hope we meet again!
