Crockpot wizardry

You know all the talk we've been doing about crockpots a short while back? Well I mentioned that my crockpot had broken, and guess what...a friend gave me one of the little crockpots. I'm overjoyed. It's just the right size for me. Can't do a roast or anything in it but I can do all of the soups. Isn't that great?

That is so awesome duh! You may not be able to do a large roast, but you sure could chop up a roast and freeze them in pieces that would fit nicely in the crockpot and make them in mini's.

Thats awsome Duh and be on the lookout at the grocery store, you might just find a roast thats small enough, or ask the butcher to cut a tiny one for you.

Killarney Chowder
Makes 4 to 6 servings
2 leeks
3 small potatoes, peeled and chopped
3 1/2 cups chicken stock
1 10 oz package frozen green peas, thawed
1/2 cup coarsely chopped watercress leaves
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/8 tsp pepper
1/2 cup sour cream
Watercress leaves
Trim and clean leeks; slice crosswise. In a slow cooker, combine leeks, potatoes, stock, peas, watercress, seasoned salt and pepper. Cover and cook on LOW 5 to 6 hours or until vegetables are tender. Process one-third of the mixture at a time in a blender or food processor until pureed. Return mixture to cooker. Turn control to HIGH. Stir in sour cream. Cook on HIGH 15 to 20 minutes or until hot. Spoon into bowls. Garnish with a few watercress leaves.

I just made up my own recipe for crock pot pork chops....so far it smells and (the sauce anyway
) tastes great!! Here it is! I'll try to remember to post how it turns out
Crock Pot Pork Chops
4 boneless or bone in pork chops(more if you have more people)
1 can Cream of Mushroom soup
1 med. onion chopped
Oregano, pepper, and garlic to taste(I left out the salt because Creole seas. is pretty salty)
1 can(soup can sized) tomato juice
1-2 tsp Creole seasoning
1-2 tsp Thai seasoning
Splash of Worcheshire sauce
Place pork chops(seared or unseared- mine were still pretty frozen, so I didn't sear) in bottom of crock pot. Mix all other ingredients together and pour over chops. Cook on high until meat is tender.
I'm serving it with white rice and broccoli.

My seasonings are just prepackaged seasonings. I got both of those at Food Lion, but you should be able yo get them at any mainstream grocery store I would think....
I tasted the sauce and it is delicious!!!
