i'm glad they are finally making it right. A lot of pans have the layer metals so I'm assuming the problem might be that the outside layer was to thin? Just a thought. Definitely e-mail ATK. It would make for an interesting bit in their program. I love their website.

Hey, Duh, what exactly is ATK?
I've never heard of them!
Is it some type of comsumer advocate program?

Hey, Duh, what exactly is ATK?
I'm not Duh, but I think they are referring to America's Test Kitchens, Patti...
Way to go on getting your refund, Sarah!

Thanks a bunch, Dianna!
Geesh, I was drawing a total blank, but my mind has been focused elsewhere the past two days.

Dianna's right ATK is just the initials of America's Test Kitchen. I'm addicted to that program lol.
They did a lemon layer cake saturday that I'm so hungry for it isn't funny. But I don't carry all the ingredients and I'm broke so it's going to have to remain in dream land.
Sorry off topic.

The only prob with a refund is I don't know how much I'm going to get back. Similiar pans are expensive and I'd be greatly annoyed if the last selling price was $20 or something like that.
I didn't check out ATK but I did check out Consumer Reports and they found some cheaper pans that perform well.
Did you all know that nonstick pans heated about 500* release lots of toxins and carcinogens via fumes and small particles into the food?? Although the FDA is fine with the product they recommend it be "phased out" as the consumer is not likely to follow proper procedures to keep the product safe. I rarely use any of my pans over high heat - but still! I don't think my nonstick pan is going to get used as much as it used too.

Yeah I ran into those directions recently myself. My non-stick call for nothing over medium heat.
I hate the weight but I'm going back to cast iron.

Geesh, I would hate to see you get cheated on your refund. Of course, I guess it's up to them to give you whatever they want, but I sure hope they will be fair about it.
I've seen that on the non-stick pans before, Sarah, but I never use anything higher than medium heat anyway.

Well, I still haven't received the refund shipping label - she said she would email it - so I will probably give the company another call tomorrow. Maybe she will be able to give me an estimate on the refund I'll receive.
She said they have a list of it but someone had borrowed her paper and not returned it to her. If the paper is missing, I may just ask that she include that bit of info when she emails me the shipping label. I used the pan in question the other night and it wiggles on the stovetop now. I have a gas stove and it was irritating trying to find the right spot to set the pan so the bumps went between the grates.
