Geesh, it was cold and drizzing rain today.  When I came out of my night class at 9:55 it was 22 degrees and windy.  It felt like needles were going through my face.    It's 18 right now and with the wind chill it feels like 10 degrees.  I want SPRING!!!

Not too bad out there today 40-ish and soggy, but I hope the rest of the rain holds off for a day or so so that what we got can soak in

I would be so sick of snow if I were in your position, Penny.... :(

It is wintery looking here, but we are having the rain, not the white stuff. We can use the rain to make up for our deficit. Lake Marion sure looks terrible being so low... :(

Well, the sun is shining and it's 35 degrees, but the wind is blowing, so it feels pretty chilly out there.  Of course, the noon news reported we have an artic front moving in so we can expect some much colder temperatures this weekend.  :SmileyFit: Geesh, I hate to hear that you're still getting more snow, Penny, it seems like you've have your share of it this winter.  :(  So far, we've been pretty fortunate, but winter's not over yet.   :ScratchHead:

It has been cold but cloudy here.  We had snow on Monday night and Wednesday night, not a lot, just enough to ice the streets really and have school start late.

We are all under the same stars, therefore we are never far apart.

Okay, it's 11 degrees with a wind chll of 0, so it mighty cold tonight.   They say this weahter is supposed to last throughout the weekend, then it's going to warm up before we get hit with the next cold spell.  Actually, that's really not so bad when you can get some brief relief from the cold, it sure makes it a whole lot easier to deal with.  ;)

30f here right now light wind around 20mph don't know the chill factor . Saw snow flurries yesterday but was so light and fast I wasn't sure I saw them till the news said we had some. I gripe about the heat in summer but I wish it was a little warmer . This is supposed to last till midweek. Thermometer on my porch showed 20f when I got up this morning .

It's been raining here all day.  Temperature is about 40*.  They had said that we might get some flurries but now it appears that the moisture is moving out faster than the cold air.  Anyway we sure needed the rain.  Last time I checked we had gotten about 1.18 inches.  We sure need it.

Here are some shots of our front yard.  Our soil is mostly clay so it drains kind of slow.

Geesh, Jim, 40 degrees sounds like spring to me right now!  ;)  We've been in the teens all day and now it's 13 degrees with 14 mph winds.  Tonight we're going down to 4, so I think an extra blanket will be needed.

I don't know what the temp was earlier today, cuz I was busy napping, but it's 46° out there right now, & the sun is shining. :grinnnn:

I went out & checked on my Mandevilla, & she's doing fine... still trying to bloom!

We've had frost a few times & within the past month the temps have been down to 29° at night a couple times, but my Gazanias, Tall Lisianthus & Dianthus are snuggled in for the winter, under pieces of old throw rugs & my Mandevilla trellis is all wrapped up in a chunk of indoor/outdoor carpeting.

I don't usually do this; I just let most of the gardens die off & replant them again, in the spring... but they were all still blooming when winter hit, & I didnt have the heart to cut anything back! :Crybaby: (Notice the die-hard Calendula in the foreground!)

When I was out there with my camera, I was really surprised to see my Periwinkle (Vinca) blooming! :yikes:

I also didnt have the heart to cut back my Sunscape Daisies (Osteospermum) for winter, so I covered them with plastic trays & stacked my yard benches on it all, for good measure.

We'll see how that works out, cuz I almost lost them all last winter, when I didn't cover them at all. :ScratchHead:

Well, Patty, it got up to 26 degrees here today, but it's at 16 right now, so I'm just staying inside.

Geesh, I always have such a a hard time cutting down things that are still blooming, so I try to wait as long as possibl.  ;)

Well, tonight we're under a severe winter weather alert.  They're predicting a wintry mix of snow and sleet this evening then turning to all snow overnight.  The low will be low 29 degrees, with winds at 10 to 15 mph.  Snow accumulations will be less than one inch, but they are saying the roads could be slick.  I just hope it all clears up before I have to go to school.

It got c-c-c-cold here last night! We heard that 17° was coming overnight, so I went out yesterday & wrapped up the outdoor water faucets, closed the air vents along the foundation of the house, & put heavier covers on some plants. (I even went so far as to put a night light in a box, at the base of my Mandevilla. :nutz: I've done this kinda thing before, & "where there's light there's heat", so it doesn't really take much to keep something from freezing in a closed-in space.)

I don't know if it got down to 17° or not, but it was 22° when I got up. It's crisp & clear, & the sun is shining... doing its best to warm things up, but has only climbed 4 degrees in the last 2 hours. (We're not used to this brand of cold... I'm just glad there isn't any wind!)

Well, it's very cold and windy today.  The roads were fine by the time I left for school, but walking was still a problem because it was pretty slick.  I'll sure be glad to get back home this evening.

Well, it's going to be bitter cold tonight with a low of 10 degrees and wind chills below zero.  The wind is coming from the Northwest at 10-20 mph.       I sure wish I didn't have to go to school tomorrow.  :Whis:

Cold Cold Cold.... chance of snow showers today. I think it should just snow on the ski mountains and be 60* down here in the valley. Good news is the days are staying lighter l onger.

Geesh, it's the same here, Wrennie, but no snow, just the cold, cold weather!  It's 11 degrees with a wind chill of -3 since the winds are 16 mph.   It's not a fun day to have to go to school, but I have no choice.  I hate the long walk from the parking lot to the building.   :SmileyFit:

Boy, it's beautiful here today.  :Yahoo:  The sun is shining and it's 55 degrees with no wind.  I went to church early this morning, came home and changed my clothes and I've been out messing around in the yard.  :yay_jump:  Geesh, I've even got all my windows open so I can get some fresh air in the house. :banana02:  Tommorrow it's supposed to get up to 60 with wind and showers, but after that it's going to start dropping again. :SmileyFit:  Oh well, I'm just very thankful for what we have today, and I'm sure going to enjoy it.   ;)   We're not used to getting such a wonderful reprieve in January, but God is good!!!  :yesssss:
