Sounds like our week Patti, was so nice to be outside in the sun for a few days even though it was colder for us.  The sun was the best part.  We are back to cloudy and cold with some showers now but I know how you are feeling today so enjoy it!!!

Well, it looks like it's our turn with the white stuff! :SmileyFit: We haven't missed it in the least, since we left Montana, & up until a few years ago ...as soon as we got here, it seems, it virtually never snowed in this area! (Murphy's Law, dont you know!) :rolleyes1:

The temp dropped from 40° to 34° within 10 minutes, just before church, then it started snowing, & when we stopped for breakfast on our way back home, we watched a couple inches build up while we were in the restaurant. It was sorta pretty, but sitting there turned out not to be a very good idea, cuz there's a little hill just before we get to our driveway, & we sorta swerved & swayed on the way up. Then when he started to turn onto the incline of our driveway, the car had its own agenda, & it was all Keith could do to keep from hitting the motor home! :Smileystop:  PhotoBucket has distorted my pic, so you probably can't see the tire tracks that stop about 2 feet from the RV... & there's about 23" of car nose, sticking out in front of the tires! :SmileyNailbiting:

He tried a couple times, to straighten it out & pull up next to my car, but the car kept trying to fishtail into the motor home, so he just parked it down there. (This is a guy who took drivers ed in the snow when he was a kid! The snow here isn't the kind that people ski in though, so it's like driving in snot!)

I took a pic of the hot tub lid when I got in the house, & 3 hours later, you can't even see the little bluebird rain gauge, & it's supposed to keep doing this until 4:00 in the morning!

Our extended forecast is for warmer temps & rain on Tuesday. The kids don't like that, but personally, I don't have any use for this stuff! :smileyNo: Seems like good weather for a nap.

Hmmm, very interesting, Patty, and you keep trying to convince me to move out there where you have your microclimate. :nutz:  Well, the best part is that it does look pretty right now and you won't have to deal with it for very long.  :wink5:  They are saying we may get some snow late next week, but, actually, that's okay since we've been very fortunate so far this winter.   :yesssss:

WOW Patty, you got all of MY snow... send the rest of it NORTH ok.  Sure does look pretty but I agree with you that driving in it is no kind of fun at all.

today got to around 59 a far cry from the 70 they predicted. Winds up to 70mph power line blown down in Dallas and a bunch out of power. Wild fires all across Texas. Tomorrow is supposed to be more of the same.

Well, today we got a mix of everything!   :yikes:  Drove to school this morning with the sun shining, my sun roof opened and all the windows in my car rolled down.  I went in and taught my first class but then had to shed my sweater within five minutes of being in class.  After class I went outside to sit in the sun because it was so beautiful and warm.  Some students came by and said it hit a record high of 78 degrees, but there were tornado warnings in the forecast for later in the afternoon, so I went to ask the secretary where the storm shelters were in our new building.  :scaredy:  Fortunately, there was one of them right outside the room I would be teaching in.  :yesssss:  While we were in class we got hit with lots of rain, then sleet, then snow and lots of wind.  It was unreal and scary, but NO tornadoes. ;)  When we got out, I was walking to my car and the wind started blowing so hard I thought I was going to get knocked down right on my face, I finally had to squat down to keep from getting blown over.  I don't know what I looked like, but I didn't care.   When it let up a bit I made my way to a big post and just held on.  I was never so scared in all my life.  :SmileyFear:  I know we've had worse wind than that in the past, but I was always inside and safe and never that far from my car or a building.  :SmileyNailbiting:  Once I got to my car, I just sat there about 15 minutes to collect myself, because I wasn't in any shape to drive.  :smileyNo:  While I was sitting there I noticed I had two missed calls because I have to have my phone turned off while in class.  Well, one call was from my son and the other was from my daughter telling about the strong winds and telling me to stay inside until the winds died down.  Guess I better start checking my messages when I get out of class.  :wink5:  Driving home at 6:00, I had the radio on and they said the temperature was 13 degrees with the wind chill at -1,   so this drop from 78 to 14 had actually occurred within 3 hours.  So, we're really lucky we didn't get hit with any tornadoes.  :wink5:

Jimmy, I guess we got some of your wind.  These were straight line winds that just kept coming with no break.

Yesterday was petty good compared to the day before, but today we're supposed to be getting a major snow storm with 6-9" of snow later this afternoon.  :yikes:  They've already started with the school closings, but so far the college is open,  :nutz:  so I'll have to head out before too long.  I'm not worried about getting there, it getting the home part that really concerns me.   :SmileyNailbiting:

Wel,, our weather is really HORRIBLE!!!  :yikes:  It took me a lot longer to get to school today, but I had my first class and then about 10 minutes into my second class, they announced that the campus would be closing in 20 minutes. :SmileyFit: All classes for late afternoon and evening had been cancelled, so I didn't have to teach tonight. :yesssss:  The roads were terrible and it took me over an hour to get home, but, at least, I'm in for the night.  ;)

It's about 52* here today and a slow steady rain.  We can use the rain.  Supposed to get some wind later, 15 to 20 knots with gust possible of 30 knots. The rain is supposed to move out later today and they are forecasting sunshine for the weekend and temps in the 60s.  Should be a pretty good weekend if that holds true.

Well, Wrennie, it looks like I'm with you and we're in the same boat!   :SmileyFit: It's very cold here at 21 degrees with a wind chill of 13 degrees.  There is white everywhere I look because it snowed all night.  I think they said we got 8.6 inches but some areas got even more.  I think Grafftin which is about 40 miles from here got more than 11 inches, so I'm thinking we were pretty lucky.  ;)

Sunny (whenever the sun decides to peek out) and temps around 40*. Then tomorrow a 50% chance of that yucky rain and snow mix again, then warmer tuesday and wednesday.

Actually, considering the massive snow storm we received on Thursday, the weather is really not too bad.  :smileyNo:  It's 39 degrees with some scattered thunderstorms predicted for tonight and tomorrow, so maybe it will wash away some of the snow.  ;)
