Anyone ever heard of this or tried it?  The grocery Game is a website that you subscribe to and they show you everything that is on sale at your local participating store(s)--including items not listed in the flyer-- and where to get corresponding coupons.  With both sales and coupons, you are supposed to be able to save tons of money, picking up items for a very small fraction of their price.  The sales list seems to be very logically put together and rather straight forward.  If you haven't heard of it, maybe it can help you.

My interest is this: I spend at most $140 a month on groceries.  I do my best to keep it at $120 though and use the extra $20 for things like baggies, parchment paper, etc.  Does it seem worthwhile to spend 7.50 a month plus the cost of Sunday papers (an addition $7 a month)?  Not to sound like a cheapo here but $14 is at least 10% of my grocery budget.  unsure  There is a 4 week trail available for $1, maybe I should just shut up and try it.   grinnnn

For a dollar I would try it and see if it works for you Sarah.. What do you have to lose? And Yeah the paper is a few bucks but if you save an extra 10 on food it would be worth it right? I am sure you don't have to continue on after the introductory fee if you don't wanna

I bet you will find that you already do many of the things they will help you with. They may have on-line sites to print off coupons though. The one month trial seems like a good thing to see if it is feasible for you. Please let us know how well it works.

I would say try for it as well, for $1 and the cost of a few Sunday papers, you could see if you really save yourself.   That site really sounds like it just puts all of the things closer to your fingertips than doing all of the research yourself.

I will give it a whirl in 2 weeks.  Adam just got paid and I did our grocery shopping on Saturday.  I was thinking about it though, and it's really going to have to save me a large percentage of my budget to make it worth my while.  Also, I was trying to think of what items I buy name-brand, since that is something the site plugs a lot.  Most of the name-brands are junk food that I'm trying to keep us away from (i.e. oreos, lays, pepsi, etc) only name-brand item that I buy is Pace Picante Sauce and Campbell's Condensed Soups.

A lot of the testimonials I've read for them say something like, "We never went shopping with a grocery list before and are now saving $500 a month."  So I seriously doubt that this will be the super-saver program for me that it is for some.

Adam gets paid this week, so I went ahead and signed up for the $1 trial.  It only provides a list for the walgreens and Dillons (aka Kroger/King Soopers) in my area.  Just going over the lists was kinda funny - some of the deals I saw in the flyer, that I know are pretty good buys (Pork Loin, 1.88/lb) were not on the list at all.  It's all set up on a spreadsheet with a column for coupons and it'll say something like "2.00 off, 1/20.  How on earth am I supposed to get my hands on a coupon from January?  If you're thinking of doing this, you're going to have to buy a paper every week (if ya don't already) and save all the coupons.

Another thing I don't like is that it encourages you to buy things that may be on sale a lot but still aren't (for me, specifically) affordable.  Just because KC strip steaks are on sale for 4.99/lb doesn't mean I can pay for them!  Anywho, just my take on it.
