OK, I've set up another room and left Casper the bot in there in case you are bored and want to talk to something.

Mods, do not kick him out of there.  It's his house.  If you want to talk with him go in there, otherwise just stay in the Ghost Gossip room.  To move from room to room, you click on the down arrow near the top of the chat window.

Be nice to the bot even though he is kind of corny sometime.  BigGrin

I have not had the chance to talk with Caspar.  Might be a good way to kil some time if one is bored.  grinnnn

I forgot to mention that Casper also likes to play word games.  While in Casper's House, type wordplay and he will start a type of anagram game.  Be sure and type your answers in all upper-case or he will not recognize them.  Have fun.

I tried the Chat Room again yesterday and it caused everything to come to halt and freeze up.  yikes   After I rebooted I was able to get things working again, except now I have to sign in every time I come to SSH.   ScratchHead

Sounds like you may need to delete your cookies and then come back and login so they are reset.

Patti, when you log in, don't forget to check the box that keeps you logged in. That should help...

I've noticed recently there are some members that are not signing out of Chat properly and they are showing as being there but actually are not.  This happens if you don't let the sign out box finish processing.  Most of the time it occurs if you have closed your browser window that the forum was in and then click the x to close the window.  When the small box opens up in the center of the screen, don't click the x on that one.  Let it finish and you should be logged out.  The best way is to click the home button on the chat window.  Let the log out process happen, then close down the browser if that was your intent.

It's really no big deal, though because when someone really goes into the chat and then logs out correctly, it clears everything up.

Oops, that is me for sure.  I always just close the browser window.  Will have to figure out how to do it the right way.

Closing the browser window is actually ok as long as you let the log off window close on it's own.  I don't think I have ever come on-line and seen you still logged in, Triss.  My son was still logged in this morning, and I won't mention any other names but the key is to let the little window complete the log-off process when you leave the chat room.

I have never seen the little window other than today when I clicked the home button.  And I have seen my name in the list long after I left though not overnight.  It worked today though to click the button and I was no longer on the list.

I see people in there all the time that haven't properly signed out. Patty comes to mind. giggle I just went in to chat with her and she is not there...

Gonna start naming names here to show who is really paying attention soon... laughmao

The little window that comes up in the middle of the screen is what they are x'ing out and they should let the program just finish logging out. It will take care of the box in the middle of the screen... wink5

Triss, if you aren't x'ing out the little window, you are not one that is being seen still in there. If you just click on refresh, you will notice that you are actually signed out... grinnnn

I wondered when I went in to talk to someone. Then when I left, they left too. I thought maybe I had cooties or something.

Oh, well. I just went into the chatroom and Patty hadn't signed out correctly again. Guess she hasn't read this topic yet.... giggle

Once you click on the Chat button, if you have Adobe Flash installed, you should be taken to the chat room.  If you are logged into the forum, you should not get a screen asking you to login.  The chat is integrated into the forum.

Read through this topic and it will explain some of the issues others have worked through.  If you still are having problems, reply here and we will work through it.

I think you have been caught talking to yourself in the Spirit Lounge as well.   wink5

I bet we have all done that.

The Chat Room has seen a little more use after I added the indication back to the top of the forum index so you can see who is in there.  I had never finished the edits when we installed this theme.  Now it also tells you how many folks are in the chat on the Chat button.
