my money plants are in full bloom.  And they really put out nice purple flowers.  I've always seen the seed pod and never even considered the bloom before.  I'm going to try and bring them to the new place but if they don't make it I have seeds so I can plant more.

More pretties to share that are blooming today...

I love the yellow and purple Iris. At least, I am assuming that the purple is an Iris of some type...

The ajuga is beautiful, too, when it is in bloom... :grinnnn:

Ohhh I love that ajuga.  I dunno that i have ever seen it before, is it s ground cover?  What kind of sunlight does it like?

The ajuga seems to like partially shaded areas best, Triss. It is a groundcover. Have you got a shaded area you need some for? :grinnnn:

Not really, I have space under my birch tree that gets some shade, but it is pretty full under there.  Everything else I am working with is full sun.  I have not even begun to think about the back area that is shaded.  I will have to keep it in mind for when I do have a working shade area cuz it is pretty.

I love ajuga, mine is in pretty full sun with some shade. I take it whenever someone has some to get rid of. That hill of mine would look much better in ajuga than in crabgrass. I did a patch of it around my little wooden church last year, the garden I'm expanding too this year. I want to put some on the slope.
The purple is an Iris too Dianna. Very pretty!

Oh well... then maybe I will try some.  I guess a lil won't hurt and if it helps with the weeds... even better!

Dianna, that yellow Iris is AWESOME! :yesssss:

My first Iris opened up today! :yikes: They usually don't get started until the last week of April or the first week in May!  The others are budding, but they don't look like they're ready to open yet.

Ahh, the beginning of another year in my Iris row! :yay_jump:

Yours are a lot further along than mine Patty.  No buds popping up yet.  I sure hope they bloom for me!

I didn't know that iris bloom this early.  I'll definitely have to get some for the new place.  They can follow the tulips and hycinths.  Thanks for the info everyone.

Well, Wrennie, I'm one of those people who hate ajuga!  :Vent:  I bought some years ago and it spread like weeds.  :SmileyFit:  Geesh, I didn't think I would ever get rid of it.  :yikes:

I will keep that in mind but remember I am one who intentionally put buttercup in my garden and most people around here consider it a weed too but it looks so darn pretty and covers up all of the bare spots.  I could handle the ajuga taking over in that way as well.

Here are my double daffs. 5 of them, only had 1 bloom last year.

And this one is from the 'mixed bag' I planted last fall. The blooms are about the same diameter as a quarter.
