What have I gotten myself into?

WWW
« on: Sep 19, 2008, 12:22:03 PM »

I'm currently working on getting the Halloween theme set up.  Effective 1 Oct, everyone will be changed to it.  I will provide the option for you to individually change back to this theme from within your profile just like with the Christmas theme last year.

As of right now you will still have access to the Arcade from the Halloween theme.  I'm working on getting the Chat working but if I don't get that finished for Halloween, I'm sure we can do without it for a month.

Got everything finished for the Halloween theme.  I'll activate it for everyone this weekend.  Be sure and let me know once it is turned on if you have problems.  As a last resort, you can always change back to this theme.

It will only show the users in chat at the bottom of the index page, not both like I have it now.  Additionally it will not show the number of users in chat because the menu is not really a button.  None of these things are really needed anyway.

After I reset the default theme to the Halloween theme this weekend, if for some reason you want to change back to this theme, please let Dianna or I know and we will change it back for you.  I was planning on making it selective but there are some other themes that I have been experimenting with and they aren't finished.  Wouldn't want someone to select one of those and not understand why everything doesn't work.

Ok, the Halloween theme is up.  If you want to be switched back to the original, let Dianna or I know and we will switch you back.  Remember we will have this theme up for about a month. before switching everyone back.  You can either PM your request to be switched back or post it here in this topic.  Your choice.

I like it. I did have to make the print larger. But I believe that is my own personal problem. And it is easily done.

Please switch me back.  I don't do change well.  Thank you.

Done!  Please take note that I am working on a new default for the site and that will be the theme.  The old blue one that we have used for so long will no longer be used.  Reason being that when I install mods I have to install it on all themes and that is way too much work.  The new theme supports 12 colors and that will allow me to customize it for the seasons rather easily.  You will be able to see that theme after Thanksgiving unless I get real energetic and decide to put it up in Nov 1 for Thanksgiving.

Love the Backgraound Jim it is great!!!  Always been a big fan of the Headless Horseman!!!

Thanx,

G

Glad you like it...the colors and graphics were pretty much done by the theme author.  I can't take credit for picking them.  Like you I liked it though when I saw it.  The guy that did this theme is awesome.

ha ha... I didn't even notice the year was wrong.  I did notice that it looks like the headless horeseman is brandishing a banjo. Don't know if that is actually true to the story of the headless horesman or not, but thought it was cool.  Like Wrennie, I also like the darker backgrounds, and this maroon is actually one of my favorite colors!

The year is the year the theme was originally made so it's not wrong.  It's just not 2008!

I found the original pic on the net and it is definitely modified.  The original has a very dangerous looking ax in his hand.  I'll look again and see if I can find it.

Found it...

I do like the modified one better... BigGrin

OK, I got a graphic without the Halloween 2007 caption on it, and even added the forum name just in case we have forgotten.   BigGrin  I like it better without the year.  I had tried to find or edit it once before without much success but decided to try again.  I'm glad I did.

Here's the modified graphic in case there are others out there that want to get rid of the 2007.  Just right click and save the pic, then replace it in your ./Themes/Halloween2007/images folder.

Thought I would bump this topic a bit as Halloween will be here before we know it.  I need to do a little tweaking to get the theme we used last year working, mainly with the portal.  I'll try to work that this weekend and the forum will be transformed to the Halloween theme.  As before, if you decide the dark theme is too hard to read, let me or Dianna know and we can reset you individually back to this one.
