Crochet - Afgan Stitch
« on: Oct 27, 2008, 05:00:42 AM »
I was thinking about using an afgan stitch to make chair covers for the dinningroom chairs.  That's the one that can be cross stitched on if I remember correctly.  Anyone ever done this?  I tried it once but my cross stitch was to tight and pulled the crochet out of shape.

I'm thinking about the stitch that you do with the super long crochet hook.

Thats also called tunisian crochet, among other things. I just found a site that explained how to cross stitch on it so the stitches dont show on the back, hmmm, what was it called?
Ok here it is -> www.crochetcabana.com/specialty/tunisian.html

Excellent sites, thank you for sharing them with me.  I think I may have to try that.  That is if I can find enough of the colors of thread I like.  At a price I can afford.  Lets see what price can I afford ha

Are you going to do the crocheting with yarn and then cross stitch over it?  Or crochet with thread?

We are all under the same stars, therefore we are never far apart.

With yarn for any item that I'll come in contact with.  Thread is way to rough for those kinds of things in my opinion.  But that's just me.  I would also do the cross stitch using a yarn and not thread.

I'm going to take a closer look at the pattern that doesn't curl.  That sounds interesting.
