Calls from beyond
« on: Nov 07, 2008, 09:50:54 PM »
Did anyone else hear about this strange happening?

http://www.snopes.com/horrors/ghosts/deadcall.asp

I was just reading on Snopes and ran across this.  I remember hearing about the train wreck but didn't hear about the phone.  I guess that was something that just didn't make the news because it was not explainable.

So what do you think?

Personally I think his desire to say good bye to his family was stronger than death.

Sounds believable to me as well, but the skeptic in me asks how do they know he died on impact?
This is me ->?

I was wondering the same thing.  I would be more inclined to believe that he was alive and trying desperately to reach his family to say goodbye.  How very sad.

We are all under the same stars, therefore we are never far apart.

Keep in mind that Snopes tries to determine whether a story is true or not.  In this case maybe it was better to say he died on impact instead of giving you the gory details, like his head was severed or he was cut in half!

Personally I think his desire to say good bye to his family was stronger than death.

That could definitely be true.  His final act that could have even continued when he didn't.

Did you notice in the story that they didn't find the cell phone?  :SmileyQmarks:

I didn't notice that Jim. If the phone was never found, isn't it possible someone else got ahold of it and was reaching out to whoever they could for help? I dunno. This is definitely a head scratcher.
Dear Lord, On this day, please wrap your arm around my shoulder and keep your hand over my mouth.  Amen
