Digital Camara [subtitle: Some please shoot me]
« on: Dec 06, 2008, 09:02:05 AM »
I hooked up the little camera today.  I was going to down load the photos on it.  This stupid computer says it doesn't have a driver for it.  Can you please tell me what to do next?

Somehow I've lost the cd that came with it and the cd with my pictures on it from when I first moved in.  I'm feeling really frustrated and hurt.  So please bare with me.

Can you give me the make and model of the camera? I'll see if I can find the driver for you. Or you can search for it yourself if you'd prefer.

Not a problem at all.

One more download http://www.pkware.com/download-software/free-unzip once you download this and install it, go to the camera software and double-click it, the newly downloaded and installed zip program will extract the contents of the zip file to any location you choose.

I know this must (or might) be a pain.

nasty words.........

I got it downloaded and unzipped but when I went to add the driver the wizard asks for the disk even though I've told it the specific location and I'm looking at it in the little browser window.  Now what can I just take a sledgehammer to this stupid computer?

It did it.  I had a cd playing and that was messing it up.

Ok on to the next step and seeing if I can download these pictures.

That is if they are still on the camera after all of that.

Nope they are gone.  So I took some new ones.  Then the computer was frozen and I had to do a hard reset.  Then the camera lost the pictures again.

So then I tried to do some family history and it said my account was on hold and I had to call utah.  Of course the first time I called and ran around the answering service I forgot it was too early back there for them to be open.  When I called back later of course it was to be told that they weren't open on Saturdays and that I would have to call back on Monday because she couldn't get into her computer either.

Do you think my friend would mind if I asked for my old computer back?

Looks like William got you all fixed up.  Good to see we will be seeing some pictures soon!

Do you still have the documentation for the camera?  The link William posted may be a good place to start if you are having trouble downloading the pics.

When the old computer went away so did all the cookies that store all the login info for the sites you visit.  You will need to login again to get it stored on the new one.

ETA:  Here is the link to the manual if you cant locate it.

Why is the camera losing the pictures?  The old one didn't do that.  Am I doing something wrong?

Tammy, do you have fresh batteries in the camera. I believe that batteries that are losing their charge can cause that to happen... :ScratchHead:

I put fresh batteries in before I took the last batch of pictures so I don't think that's what caused it.  But you never know I got them from Wal-Mart.
