Buffalo and Sheep
« on: Jan 04, 2009, 01:27:47 AM »
I took my cousin, Keith (16 years old) home today to his mother, who is my first cousin.  On the way back home, Diane and I decided to just do a little bit of exploring.

We found Buffalo first, right off of highway 138, near Kellog, Oregon.

And then we saw baby sheep that are just learning to walk. That was really fun! I Hope you enjoy!

That buffalo really has a massive head, doesn't it? :o

Are the numbers on the sheep to label them to one herd or as a mother/kid thing?

Hi! I don't know why the numbers are on the sheep. My guess is so that the farmer knows who belongs to whom, and maybe what order they were born in.

I had a friend who made a good joke in that, she said that it was nice of the farmer to make is to that the sheep could tell who they belonged to, and it was very nice in particular for the farmer to teach the sheep to read!

Of course, she said it funnier! LOL... Hugs, Peg

Great pics Peggy, but I know why the sheep are numbered... the older ones are raising up the new ones to be your "counting sheep" for when you cannot sleep.  :grinnnn:

They got the number painted on so they know what number they are?  Cute, Triss!

lol too cute!

Since number 12 baby is huddled next to number 12 Mommy and the same with 13, I would guess that it is too identify mommy and baby pairs.  This way if you have a lamb missing, you know who is missing the baby.

I think probably, Landofoz is correct, but I like the idea of them growing up to be counting sheep! LOL!!!

Too funny!!! :) Hugs, Peg
