Father's Day Craft
« on: Jun 18, 2009, 09:14:50 AM »
Adam always complains that he never gets homemade father's day gifts because a) school's out and b) no one cares about father's day enough to actually make something.  Well, I can tell you that he doesn't get homemade father's day gifts because a) there are no cool ones to make and b) he'd prefer something useful.  Anyway, I found the coolest homemade gift ever (IMHO).  Mini Toolbox for Dad.  We'll be working on a double-stack for Adam today.  I just need to find a metal eye strap.  I think that this will also make a wonderful girl scout project!

Anyway, I just had to share in case someone else was looking for something to do for this coming sunday.

That is cute, Sarah.
Other gifts my daughter has made that were really loved by her dad were a mug w/her picture on it, and a key board (girl scouts). And a  cigar box from (from a neighbor) decorated for his trinkets  with a can decorated for pens and pencils (made at home). All of these are still in use around here.

That is an awesome craft project!  I need to forward that one to some teachers.

Here is the one that we made.  I couldn't find the exact item for the handle, but I think it is close enough!

In the top box, each of us made Adam a mini-card and I tied them all together with a pretty knot.  Yeah, I can't tie a good bow to save my life.  The bottom has eye glass cleaning wipes in it.  The man is always cleaning his glasses!

That is neater than grits, Sarah Loo! :grinnnn:

I think the girl scouts will enjoy making them too...
