It is definitely an improvement!  I am excited to be finally so near the finish line.  I ordered a roller shade (white) on Saturday and it supposedly has already shipped out.  I can't wait to get that window covered.  I think I'm going to make a simple valance to put on the top - something white with maybe a blue trim/edging that matches the walls.

I love it Sarah.  So beautiful and elegant as well.

Adam primed the bead board last night, which means he'll be painting tonight!     We have the table back in the dining room - it's so nice to be able to move in my kitchen again.  I'm hoping that my shade stays on schedule and that I'll have it tomorrow.  That would be awesome! :banana02:  Anywho, we should be done with all this very, very soon!  I can't wait!   :yay_jump:

Today is our 26th day on the project.  It sure doesn't feel like we've gone fast - to either of us.  Due to length of this project, we are considering severely abbreviating our other plans.

I think, so far, we've spent around $600 on the room; which is much, more than we had intended.  That includes things like drywall, all sorts of different nails (of which we have 90% left), tools, 2x4's, renting the sander, paints, primers, brushes, trays, etc.  But, the floor only cost us around $100.00 and we have left-over supplies, and to do the laminate it would have been $300-ish--so at least it hasn't all been insane over-spending or something.

Boy that's a lot.  Imagine if you had paid for labor.  Hopefully you'll get it all and more back when you sell it.

Well, I put up the shade this morning and it was a pain in the butt.  But it's up and it works.  I have missed my black out shades!!  Dexter think that we refinished the room for him and he loves it.  He's always in there, sprawled out oor chasing his reflection in the floor.  Here he is, annoyed at the bright flash during his third nap of the day.

Thanks on both accounts!  The tomatoes are delicious.  Adam and I just finished up painting!  That means that we should be able to start moving stuff in tomorrow night!  Once again, I'm so excited.  The ceiling/wall intersections need to be touched up a bit but I think we can do that with all the stuff in the room.  I can't wait!   :hb3:

I have enjoyed watching your progress. Thanks for sharing it with us all. You have me thinking about mine. But I have way too much to do outdoors to keep mine safe from fires before I begin on the inside for real.

Here is a couple pics of the room finished and empty and the last is what it looks like with almost all our stuff in it.  Tossed in a before pic for good measure.  The black thing is actually a dresser that we've converted into a buffet.  It serves its purpose.  Pics are clicky.

Today, my husband finally finished the job.  He finally got the threshold stained, poly'ed, and screwed to the floor.  It looks much nicer than fraying carpet bleeding onto the lovely hardwood floor.
