Sarah are you going to have time to finish that quilt with everything that is going on?

I'll make time.  If it comes down too it, honestly, who needs sleep??   :laughmao:

I do need to get this going soon.  I've spent the last 2 hours working on chores so I'll have time to start cutting the strips tomorrow.  The baby shower that I'm planning was going to be on Oct 24th but with our closing date on the house listed as Oct 23rd, I won't be able to swing the original date.  However, the closing date may get pushed to a later date, so for the moment we are sitting in limbo waiting to see if our offer is accepted, and if so, if the closing date needs adjusting.  Once we know that, then I can start on the baby shower...

So Sarah, are you giving this shower?  One day your battery is going to stop and you're going to just fall right over.

Yes, I am throwing the shower, with help from my sister's Mother In Law.  I threw Robynn's first baby shower -- and volunteered to do this one.  Baby showers aren't all that difficult.  Just feed the women and their pretty much happy on their own.  The big activity is going to have fabric markers, fabric paint, stencils, and lots of onsies.  This way Robynn's friends and family can make a customized onsie for Robynn.  I see "Poop Machine" in her future...

Sleep is overrated. :grinnnn:  Love the idea of decorating onesies!

Explain the idea to me por favor.  You give everyone a onesie and they paint it or color it somehow?  I've been involved in all my nieces wedding showers so I'm sure baby is next.

Okay, Sherri, you come to my super awesome baby shower.  You have some wonderful snacks and are wondering, "Wow, Sarah is so awesome, nothing could make this day more fun!" and at the moment BAM! I motion everyone over to the kitchen table.  On the table are clean stacks of onesies, a bunch of stencils, fabric markers, and some fabric paint.  Everyone gets a onesie and then can choose a clever stencil (like "poop machine") or can use the fabric markers to decorate an adorable onesie.  At the end of the shower, the mother-to-be gets a bunch of customized onesies made by you and the rest of her friends!  Then everyone claps and cheers for me and my wonderful idea and then I'm carried off on their shoulders into the sunset...

I think you should read this to everyone while they're working on their onesies.

Well, you guys successfully lit a fire under my butt.  I have the quilt top assembled.  I basted the layers together tonight and will start quilting it sometime in the very near future.  Like tomorrow.  I have yet to find the camera, but rest assured, it is not the ugliest thing I've created.

Here is Dexter on the blanket.  He is always, always, always up on it -- and he isn't allowed on the table!!

Dexter isn't actually on the table.

:SlapSelf: :rofl1: :rofl1:  You are right!

My biggest problem is that he likes to jump up onto the quilt while I'm quilting it.  He'll get up there, paw at the machine -- the needle specifically, until I stop sewing then he turns on his turbo-charged purr and lays down.  It's like he thinks his purring makes it okay for him to sleep there...  (okay, so it kinda does)
