I work in an old school building - before we took it over, it was a Japanese government school dating back to the early 1950's in an area that was totally levelled in allied bombing in WW2.

The school is haunted, but nothing malevolent, nothing particularly strong and mostly faint residuals.

I am one of the first staff members to get to work in the mornings and one of the last to leave - I work in a wing on the 3rd floor that has no homerooms and only another staff member in another room.

twice I have heard footsteps and checked to find no one is there.  Twice I have heard faint whispers from within the lab where my office is and once I caught a glimpse of a shadow down the corridor - nothing though, gives an air of being malevolent.

I am quite used to and are somewhat comforted by whatever entities are inhabiting my quiet wing of the school.

So the school was built after the war?  Do you know what was there before the bombing?

I think it was a residential area near many factories - I know that factories were definitely nearby.

I saw a shadow again this evening - right outside my lab - i could hav sworn it stopped and bowed.  These spirits are not in any way frightening, nor are they disruptive - i am liking their company to be honest.

Definitely sounds like a residual haunting.  Have you tried taking any pictures?  Might be interesting to see if you get anything.

I am glad that the spirits seem harmless, Damien. It would be alarming having to work there if they were up to mischief... wink5

I'm at what was formerly known as my "good school" today and it's a big, old building that I just love.  I just went and looked and it was built in 1898.  It has tall windows with wide ledges and the main building has the originial wood floors.  It's freezing in the winter and it's blazing in the summer.  I love this old building.  The people who work here everyday say it's haunted.  Stuff bumps and falls and lights go on and off regularly.

Is it still being used as a school?  Sounds interesting.

Yes, it's what I used to call my good school.  I was there today.  A lot of people don't like it because it's too cold or too hot but I love that old building.  The floors and windows are great.

I saw my little friends again this evening - this time I was standing in the darkened corridor and saw the full shape of a child sized shadow walk by me.

I think definitely residual, but still very nice

Interesting a child would be at a school.  Wonder what the reason is for that?  Was there a tragedy at the school?

At the haunted school they have about 400 students.  I've never seen a shadow there.  Things move around and open and close and the lights go on and off.  It may just be that it's an old building but the people who've been present when the things have happened say something or someone lives there.

There really doesn't have to be a tragedy to have a residual haunting.  It's like a playback of a past event.
