baby blankets
« on: Oct 02, 2009, 09:58:26 PM »
i was going to say "first" baby blanket, but figured i'd just have one topic for them.  this is the first one.  both parents are clemson grads, which is why i chose those colors.  that and their dr says this is a boy.  the colors will work either way.  every since charlie, i've not believed the drs when they say the baby is whatever.  although i know that a boy is more reliable than a girl.  for ultrasounds anyway.  there are other ways that are fool proof.

so here it is.  side one and side two.  i like the argyle look of it.

there will be 7 or 8 sets of the stripes.  i have 2 1/2 done.  and less than a week to get it finished.  if i'd crochet instead of typing, i'd get don faster!  :rofl1: not happening  :rofl1:

That is pretty. Don't let Sheri see that red, white and blue thing going on. She'll steal it.

it really isn't red/white/blue.  it is orange/purple/white.  but the colors didn't photograph so well.

Good job. I like it.

Crocheting and knitting are two things I just never could get the hang of.  Wish I could have, I tried.  I still have a baby blanket that was made for me when my daughter was born. That blanket (and my daughter) is 30 yrs. old now. You'd never know it to look at it. They make great keepsakes.

Good luck getting it finished on time.

Not a fan of Clemson, being from NC, but I do know what the colors are.

Looks good.

:kissies: thank all.  i'm about 3/7 through it.  i figured out i would need 7 sets of the rows to make it the right size.  it is coming along nicely.

Looks like the gift was a winner for sure. Now if their team won, they would be even happier... :giggle:

yes, it is a big piece of bread.  sort of.  burlap over a bread shaped frame, painted to look like white bread with a good brown crust.  we make jokes about it all the time, how we need peanut butter and jelly, or butter, or jam to go on it.

thank you all for the compliments.

The bread is cute.  Is it in a lunchroom or something?
