Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Ingredients

    * 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - cubed
    * 1/8 cup margarine
    * 1 (.7 ounce) package dry Italian-style salad dressing mix
    * 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
    * 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup

Directions

   1. Put chicken, margarine and dressing mix in slow cooker; mix together and cook on low for 5 to 6 hours.
   2. Add cream cheese and soup, mix together and cook on high for another 1/2 hour or until heated through and warm.

It doesn't get must easier than this, folks.

This is almost identical to the cream cheese chicken I made a couple weeks ago.  It was good.

Is it??  I just assumed different name, different product, so my brain didn't even attempt to cross reference ingredients!

No big deal. Completely different name.  I think the only difference is that my recipe had 6 chicken breasts.  It's funny how that happens.  I wouldn't have guessed it had been the same thing until I read the ingredients.  Did you like it?

Yeah!  It was good.  Adam loved it and he isn't much of a chicken eater.

I made this. I think next time I would put my own italian dressing spices together because it came out pretty salty. And maybe a low sodium soup if I can find it.
I don't cook with salt because I cook for diverse crowd. But I am a big salter at the table. I didn't with this.

Well I went to make this last night. It was too late to do it in a crock pot, but I thought I could pull it off on the stove top. So,I get out the chicken, frozen thighs, and stick 'em in cold water to start to defrost. Get a big pot, and go get the cream of chicken soup............ uh oh

no cream of chicken, or celery, or mushroom either! gahh But now I really want this! thspeechless-vi
so
I use 10 0z of chicken broth instead. How soupy can it come ut right? I added a half of a small onion chopped and 1/2 a celery stick chopped to give the broth more flavor. Toss in semi-thawed chicken., and let her lightly boil till the meat falls off the bone.Toss out the bones. Make rice using more chicken broth for 1/2 of the water required. Then I steamed some fresh broccoli. Added the cream cheese and italian dressing packet, stirred it all up.  Wow YUM! It came out great! yay_jump Spooned the chicken on top of the rice and broccoli on the side.  542
