Oreo Balls

1 package regular Oreos
1-8 oz. block of cream cheese , softened

In a food processor, mix Oreos until they become crumbs.  Add cream cheese in chunks and process until you have dough.  Roll into balls and place on a baking sheet.  Set in freezer or refrigerator to harden for 1 - 2 hours.

Once Oreo balls are set, dip in melted chocolate*.

Store in refrigerator and serve cold.

*I used white chocolate but you could use any kind you want.

My dad was going on and on about these a couple years ago.  Thanks for the recipe!

I made these for PTA meeting tonight.  And the THREE people that actually came loved them.  Adam and the girls really like them as well.  I was tempted to eat the filling and skip the chocolate covered part.  That filling is some GOOD stuff!

It is good.  I keep telling James and Tristen that they better stop eating them or we won't have any left for Christmas gatherings.  I may or may not have had a couple myself.

I just used a chocolate almond bark.  Next time I will use a higher quality chocolate, as I didn't care for the almond bark.

Tina, I don't know how big of a food processor you have but I had to do half at a time because otherwise it was too much for my processor.

I brought some of these to work today along with the other treats I made and they were a big hit!  My boss (who is a male) asked me for the recipe.

My balls are chilling.
My food processor handled the whole shebang with a little scraping. I love the stuff so far. I almost wish I didn't have to dip them. But I do understand they need it to stand up on their own a little longer.
I am going to need a new processor soon though because I can see where the plastic that the blade is inlaid into is cracking.

I have options. Lots of options. I have yet to decide. I have  I have Ghiradelli white, dark or milk plus other brands of choices. I went nuts in the baking aisle plus already had some here.

I bet this would be good with a good peanut butter sandwich cookie to. Maybe half the cream cheese and half peanut butter (sweetened?).

That would be good, Tina.

I did half with Ghiradelli white and then I ran out of that so I had to use Nestel white.  The Nestle are still good but you can definitely tell a difference.  I can't get Ghiradelli white at my little store.  I need to stock up next time I am somewhere that has it.
