I use Ragu a lot when I make spaghetti on a week night.  I like it better than Prego.  I have tried other brands and James and I like them but them Tristen won't eat it so most of the time it is Ragu at our house.

If I buy spaghetti sauce, it's ragu original but I mostly make my own.

I made chili mac enough for two nights. I love the vegetable steamer bags for sides. They are even easier than opening a can and taste better with fewer dishes.

I'm sure Tina will tell us how she makes hers but chili mac to me is like a goulash but with some kidney beans added in.  I imagine everybody makes theirs a little different.  I am curious to hear how Tina makes hers.

I make chili make like velveeta mac n cheese (the homemade stuff, not from a box) and then add in a can of chili, cooked hamburger, and salsa.  Sometimes a packet of taco seasoning or rotel tomatoes instead of salsa...

I made spaghetti carbonara last night and it was awful, awful, awful.  I was so very, very, very angry.  I hate my stove.  It doesn't cook right.  I hate it.  There is nothing more infuriating than making one of my favorite dishes and totally messing it up.  It was like over-cooked, rubbery yet somehow watery bits of scrambled eggs with onions, bits of bacon and noodles.  It was so very bad.

My chili mac is even easier. I just cook some pasta and dump canned chili into it, add shredded cheddar and call it dinner. The chili I use is my store brand one (with beans) and it is delicious with no fillers. Better than most of the more expensive tinned brand name stuff. But my second choice would be Dennison's. I am not so fond of just chili any more. I like to stretch it out  with the mac. It mellows the flavor and the heartburn.

It was the eggs.  Just gross.

I'm making a new tuna casserole tonight.  It isn't anything like what I'm used to making, so we'll see how it turns out.  It has frozen "mini" peas in it.  Hoping those aren't as nasty as all the other peas in the world...

We went to Cracker Barrel tonight. I was too tired to cook and we needed to go buy groceries, anyway... wink5

I had a chef salad. I boxed up half of it before I started eating, for Jim's lunch tomorrow. Those salads are big enough for two people... licklips
