Hate E-Bay/PayPal
« on: Feb 27, 2010, 10:30:38 AM »
I'm currently chatting with e-bay.  And it's a good thing we're talking over the internet or I might be tempted to scream my bloody head off.

I've cancelled my paypal account which I never new I opened.

Now I have to hope the seller contacts me on Monday and we can made some other arrangements for me buying the product.

I hate this.  I think this falls into the catagory never again.

Would you believe they even have a thread about how bad paypal is on their board, and they are still trying to say it's a good company?

Oh, well hopefully I can get the product.  it's really cool.

I'm sorry you are having troubles. I don't use ebay often...only when I can not find what I am looking for on etsy.

i posted in here earlier, don't know what happened to it. I use ebay and paypal and have never had a single problem with it. The accounts are linked and it makes buying things off ebay real easy (sometimes too easy lol). Have never had a glitch of any kind.
Dear Lord, On this day, please wrap your arm around my shoulder and keep your hand over my mouth.  Amen

Well I didn't want to use paypal but it wouldn't let me do anything else.  And then it wouldn't let me ship to an address other than the billing address.  And they had my old address and would verify the new address.

I've never had a problem with other sites but this one was a mess.

I certainly won't use it again.  What is esty?

Go to etsy.com.  It is mainly handmade items.  Love it!

I've been using ebay and paypal for years without a problem.  Both do have some rules that you have to follow in order for things to work properly.  They are kind of particular about shipping to an unverified address too.

I have absolutely nothing to do with either.

Had paypal years ago, they messed up everything, never looked back, will never use them.

My dad does ebay from time to time, from what I see, its worthless also.

I guess I'm spoiled.  Policies and Procedures are suppose to make for a good shopping experience.  But when I get dead ended and then it takes me over 24 hours to figure out how to contact someone to help me I get angry.  Then on top of it after the help the only thing they can offer is wait until the seller contacts me.  Wow is that not the right answer.

I hate ebay as a buyer and as a seller. Never (knock on wood) had any problems with my paypal accounts.
I LOVE etsy! Again both as a buyer and seller.

Just proves that we form opinions based on our experiences.  I have bought a number of things off Ebay and have always done so with my eyes open and shopped around online before I purchased.  Bidding on Ebay; if you get carried away, you can actually pay more.

I've got several friends that have Ebay businesses.  All are quite successful.  Many only take payment through PayPal and when they do, it is plainly stated on the listing.

It's huge so it has to work for many people right?

I'm just not going to be one of them.

Your right everyone bases their opinions on their experiences.  Although sometimes I can learn by others mistakes.  Not often but once in a while.

Paypal has had its bad side but that was many years ago. Today it is much better. I think your problem is with ebay and the seller. Please take the time to check a seller's reputation before buying anything. Also, read the reviews and talk to those who have already purchased items from this person first. Some sellers are better than others. :P

You should also remember that sometimes real life takes over and sometimes people do not get back to you in a timely fashion. This is not good for business but sometimes unavoidable.
