Rio Player
« on: Dec 20, 2009, 09:25:02 AM »
I have a Rio MP3 player and I'm trying to download the disc but when I insert the disc into my computer I get a window that says files ready to be copied to CD and it lists a bunch of Rio files.  I don't know what to do with this.

I get so annoyed with the newer electronics. They expect you to know more than I do. I need a book or a tutorial to guide me through most of it most of the time. It drives me insane.

What do you mean by "download the CD"?  Are you trying to install some software from the CD to your computer?  Or are you trying to rip songs from the CD to put on the MP3 player?

I have to install this CD onto my computer before I can use the program to get music onto the MP3 player.

If you browse the files on the CD is there one titled Setup or Install?  Normally when you insert the disk a dialog box comes up with several options.  You may need to exit out of that one in order for the installer to start automatically.  If that is not the case, what model number RIO player do you have and I will see if I can find the manual online.

I found my Rio player in the car today.  I'll get the model number when I go downstairs.

That really looks more like a serial number.  Did you check this site?

yes, that is the serial number.  I don't see a model number.  I'll check out that site.  Thanks.
