That sucks. I ran a cleaner that wiped mine out once. It ticked me off having to find all of those places again and re-add them.

I guess you are using IE.  Seems this happens with IE.  See if this link helps.

I tend to save my bookmarks every so often, just in case. I lost them myself one time.
