I need a basic white cake mix.  A make-it-yourself cake mix.  Does anyone (sarah) have any suggestions?  I've been googling and have tried a couple but they are awful and make holey, domed cakes (which is not enough baking powder, not enough fat).

I know I have one around here somewhere, and I need to locate it anyway. Let me look.

Thanks!!  I kinda meant a dry mix, like instead of buying a prepackaged Betty Crocker mix from the store.    Do you just mix up the dry ahead of time or was I not clear?   unsure  But I was in need of a good yellow cake recipe, so I'm gonna have to try this puppy out regardless.   good2

There's no reason you couldn't pre-measure the dry stuff, but I don't. I always have that stuff on hand, so I just grab and stir.  542

I'll keep an eye out for a white recipe.
