It was on PBS or TPT. I think it is called TPT in my area.

Those are nice and pretty easy reading. I've really never tried kale. I will have to try a little and see if it gives me the same issues I get from spinach. There are so many iron rich vegetables that cause me digestive problems. But iron rich meats, no problem. It is nice to get on the internet and find out I am not alone in my idiosyncrasies.
Does anyone else follow their cravings? I figure if I have a hankering for tuna, I will eat tuna until the craving leaves me? I do that with a lot of foods.

Kale is intresting...I prefer it in soup.
I follow my cravings, as long as they are reasonable. I figure I'm lacking something if I want whatever that badly.

Do you have particular favorites, Sarah? I find it goes well in italian style soups, but would like more ideas...

I put it in a recipe for touscan soup (it's an olive garden rip-off recipe) and it's really good in there. And sometimes in a veggie soup or in a potato soup. All good places to boil in some kale.

We finally made it out to the local dairy farm. All their cows are raised on grass from the pasture - no grain, hormones, or antibiotics. They make cheese, kefir (which I wasn't brave enough to try yet), cream cheese, yogurt, eggs, beef, lamb, pork, and fresh made whole wheat bread, dough, pizza, etc. The milk is $6.00 a gallon. And everything there is done on the honor system. They said to come in whenever, get what we want, and leave money in the bowl on the table in the center of the room.

Places like that are to be treasured, Sarah. Is the meat frozen?

That's wonderful Sarah. Don't find places like that around here.

I don't know that we have a place like that around here either. It is illegal to sell fresh milk here. It was on the news about a month ago that a farm was selling it and a kid got sick. I guess that is why it is illegal.

With the Amish community being as big as it is and with all our rural areas, I don't know that the state would be able to pass selling raw milk illegal. Them Amish folk can really hire nice lawyers and the like when they feel the inclination.

I researched a little more and apparently there are some ways to legally purchase it in MN. I didn't know that. I'm not a milk drinker. I only use it for cooking and baking. I'm not sure that the risk is worth it to me but I don't really know much about it.

The farm we are getting it from is regulated and they have to clean the teets before putting on the suckers. But I know what you mean about being worried - I can barely touch fresh produce at the grocery store anymore - I'm so worried about E. Coli with all the outbreaks we had last year. And now with the Hunt's tomatoes stuff, too. It makes me so glad I can my own!

OK, I haven't heard about Hunts. Is it be recalled?
