I went to the grocery store today and found plain yogurt with cream on top. I got raspberries and blueberries to mix with it.
what is ultra pasteurized

I used my coconut oil for the first time making some salmon patties tonight. I kind of wished I had used it with my traditional recipe for salmon patties but I messed with that too. So it isn't a fair comparison. First, I liked it. It left a 'creamier' flavor/taste to the patties that was pretty pleasant. And none of the after taste I can't get over with some other oils (like canola). It didn't impart its own flavor like olive oil does for me. I know I will enjoy messing with it with other foods in the future.

The coconut oil cleaned up well. And my house does not have that fried smell to it. (Or I am stuffy). I also cannot smell the fish smell. So I am giving it an "A-".
I do wish it were less expensive. I also stored mine in the fridge. I expected it to be solid but not quite as solid as it was. It was more firm than frozen butter or lard to chop out. I will put it out to soften next time if I remember. And maybe separate the next one into smaller usable containers. Or something. I will try it with potatoes next to see if it alters the flavor too much. Doing the salmon patties tonight did not bring it to its smoke point.

I'm pretty sure it does not have to be stored in the fridge, so long as you keep it clean. Coconut oil is antimicrobial. As for cost, if you find yourself using it and liking it there are good deals to be had.

When I was a little girl, a friend of mine stayed with her grandparents over most of the summer and I'd go stay with them. They raised sheep. Her grandfather liked to call sheep poop, "smart pills." So, one day, my sister comes out with me and over hears about these smart pills all over the ground. Wanting to be smart, she starts eating them. The grandpa looks over at my sister, eating sheep poop as fast as she can, and says, "Whatcha doing there?"
So, I must ask for clarification, is turtle beans another word for turtle poop??

I haven't heard turtle beans but I think I wouldn't touch them now!
I use kidney, garbanzos or limas. (Not llamas) I love cheeses and sunflower seeds. I like my fruit in different dishes except an occasional apple.
I bought canned artichoke hearts yesterday, Jonni scooped them up, crushed them and mixed them with creamcheese. She spread that on her toasted everything bagels. Much better priced than buying artichoke/spinach spread premade at the store.

Last night I made a huge salad. With baby greens, grape tomatoes, ripe olives, 2 kinds of beans and 3 types of cheeses. And a couple of eggs. I was going to add some meat but it really didn't need it and the bowl was getting full.
I mixed up my own dressing using plain yogurt and dry ranch mix with some green onions tossed in. Then decided it needed bacon. It was OK but missing something. I'm just not sure what. That hid the yogurt alright without much of that yogurt aftertaste that I don't care for. Maybe it will taste better today after those flavors have mingled for longer.

I just ate more yogurt with raspberries and blueberrie. I can eat it since it's supposed to be the wonder food but I sure don't like it.

Sheri, try different brands until you find one you like. I don't like every brand. Try mixing it in different things.

this is the only brand at my store that isn't fat free or low fat. It's plain, organic yogurt. What else besides the berries?

I mix granola in with mine. Put it in smoothies. Try vanilla yogurt once. You might like the taste better.

if it were me, and when i do eat yogurt, i put blueberries in, or a little cinnamon sugar, maybe a drop of vanilla, or if you want vanilla flavor that is truly natural, use vanilla sugar. a friend used to make her own. using raw sugar, put in a quart jar with a single vanilla bean. makes the sugar taste like vanilla. it is really good with blueberries and granola both. (lightly sweetened of course
)
