It is a very pretty dishcloth, Jennifer. Barb really liked it and she is glad that you made sure she got in on the dishcloth fun...:)

this is two corners of the dishcloth i just finished.  one is the "front" and the other is the "back".  i worked the edge in the "crab stitch" or "backwards single".  it was interesting and made it look almost whip=stitched on the edge.

the right side

the wrong side

and the baby blanket i'm playing with

I do like the edge on that one Jen.  Nice start to the baby afghan... must be a green kind of day.

Very nice. I think I have done that edge stitch on a project back in the 70's. The names are harder to remember than the stitches. It made a fairly solid edge with a little less room for stretching out.
I really, really like how that baby afghan is turning out.

yes, i'm seeing lots of names for the same stitch.  there is supposedly one out there that is called "belgian crochet" but i haven't found anything free on it yet.  still looking.

I think Belgian is a lacework type. Almost tatting but with a crochet hook.

nope, that isn't what i saw advertised.  not sure what it is, but it reminded me of the raised work that dodge did on the tunisian hook.
