I am a bush about 2 feet across and 2 feet tall and am in a nice shady area in the back yard.

Seriously?  Wow that is a major score.  Any idea when they bloom in this area?  I have a bunch of smaller versions of this all along that fence line... yeah!

Triss, it doesn't look like it has bloomed?  And, peonies prefer full sun.  Just thought I would throw that out there.

I agree...it hasn't bloomed, and bloom time has passed. I'd wait until it goes to sleep for the winter and see if it's planted too deep. They like to be only an inch or two under the soil...

It did not have blooms on it when we got here.  I will look into moving it but most of the back yard is shade so I will find a spot for it out front.  Probably in the next bed I work on as that seems to get the most sun.
