Here's what I was dealing with today - until I got busy (kind of) and forgot to check again. lol

In PC:

8:45 a.m 85° with 74% humidity – heat index = 102°

12:45 p.m. – 95° with 59% humidity – heat index =  114°

(humidity will be rising, got a rain cloud moving in) - Rain never did come

At home (15 miles down the road)

12:45 p.m. – 95° / 67% / 120°

And currently (6:16 p.m.) have a thunderstorm/rain overhead so if I dissapear you know why.

The site I look at will show the temps for about 15 different areas around town. There was one area where the actual temp was 102° but the heat index was only 105°. Less humidity.  The humidity level here depends a lot on how far you are from the beach but how close to another form of water you are (ponds; bayous, etc) The humidity at the beach is always lower due to the unobstructed breezes coming off the gulf. But it doesn't go very far due to all the condos being wind breaks. 5 to 10 miles inland and the humidity rises significantly.

It is off the yahoo site, Barb. Sometimes it is accurate, sometimes not. Today it is pretty much what Jim's weather station reported...Smiley

It is warm but not humid, Triss. That is a blessing. We may have some humid days and extreme heat. Those are very hard to take. That is when I will pull out my bullhorn and complain loudly.

The combination of the two is the worst.  I am glad the humidity is staying low for you.
