today at lunch we had beef stroganoff (hamburger) in the microwave.  here is the recipe.

you do have to boil the noodles on the stove until just not quite done.

while they boil,

put a pound of burger, a chopped onion, garlic (we used one clove), salt and pepper in a stoneware or glass covered microwave deep dish.  has to be deep.  cook on high for 4 minutes.

stir well and put back in micro for 2 minutes.  drain

add a can of mushrooms (drain them or it is soupy), a can of beef consumme if you can find it (we just used plain beef broth but next time i will use cream of mushroom soup), and half a cup of sour cream.  stir well, and stir in drained noodles.  cook again for 3-4 minutes.  is good.

Sounds good and it would help keep the house a little cooler.

pork tenderloin & mushroom gravy.

for supper we had a pork tenderloin and mushroom gravy.  was also very easy.

put a boneless tenderloin in a deep microwavable covered stoneware or glass dish.  onion, garlic, salt, pepper, drained mushrooms, and cream of something soup.  i used cream of chicken tonight because that is what i had.  i think cream of mushroom would have been better.

cook on high for 10 minutes per pound of meat.  serve over rice or potatoes.  i didn't get my potatoes.... razberry but it sliced into a very good sandwich and i had 2 of those.

the 3rd one she had was for barbeque pork.  same thing sort of as the pork tenderloin, only you put a cup of catsup or barbeque sauce instead of the cream of whatever soup.  and skip the mushrooms.  it also calls for a seasoning like you would put on barbeque, a dry rub kind of thing.  but not my style.

That 10 minutes per pound is a good thing to know though. So you can mix up any of your own flavors and likes. Sounds like it would be good with a combo of apple juice and maybe applesauce as well. Pineapple tidbits w/juice?

i was contemplating apple sauce.  kinda like mom does it.  or sauerkraut and pork.  it is just the 10 minutes per pound with a heavy covered dish that seems to be the key.

but, not for the burger.  that is only solid meats.  gotta get with the woman to get the deal for things like burger. and chopped up chicken.
