Paleo diet
«
on:
Aug 13, 2010, 04:16:26 PM »
Just thought I would share...been working out since March, drastically changed the way I eat..however no real weight loss. Lost two inches on waist, but body fat percentage is still way to high.. Any way last Thursday I started on the Paleo diet aka Caveman Diet. I hate to use the word diet, because it has to be a way of life in order to succeed. Anyway I blew it over the weekend, ate everything that was bad for me. Got back on it Monday and I am down five pounds as of yesterday afternoon!!

That is cool. Congratulations!
Diet is a word we all do, every time we eat. It had become a four-letter bad word. But eating healthy is eating healthy. I'll have to google that particular menu.

Isn't that the diet where if you can grow it, or "raise" it, you can eat it? Nothing processed?
Don't feel bad about going off the diet. I've been off mine since arriving here at Dianna's and am sure I've put back on every pound I had lost. I will be right back on when I get home though.

Protein is 35%, preferably Omega 3 rich. Carbohydrates (also 35%) are only vegetables, nuts and fruit, no beans, bread, potatoes, or any grains.

Looks like the benefits are good but there is no way I could do it... I love carbs too much.

Yes, I would miss grains, rice and pasta too much.

I would be the same way. My mom did the Atkins diet once. I wouldn't last one day.

Diet Update....not going so well, since starting diet..I have had a number on instances were my blood sugar levels have dropped to low to the point of passing out. Particularly on days at the gym with my trainer, but not always. I am carb loading today before the training session and have orange juice( no additives) for after the session. I'm hoping that helps, kinda hard to drive home and remain conscious.
Diet is gonna need some modification for me or just a complete change.

Jeepers, that's too serious. Make yourself a blueberry pie and eat a piece before and after exercise.

You might only need to add some slow carbs in the mix... like beans and such

Well I made it through workout and home Tuesday.. Ate spaghetti an hour and a half before work and had orange juice immediately after. Did not get dizzy or lightheaded until I got home and it was not severe. Working on getting it all straight. I think its a combo of blood sugar and blood pressure. The BP has been dropping real low at times( due to diet and exercise BP has not been as high), I have had the meds cut in half YEAH! but may still be dropping to low. Keep yall posted on way to gym now.
