I was cleaning out some old files and found this photo of a dress I made Ellie to wear in a wedding when she was 13.  I figured I'd share.

beatiful.  I never really got the hang of sewing.  Or should I say all the other stuff I have to do before I get to the sewing.

The latest from the sewing machine.  a "dutch girl" costume for Zoe.  Please excuse the fact that she looks like she was drug through a knothole backwards.  poor baby played hard today!

the dress without the apron or bonnet.  the bodice and skirt are separate to allow for growth, and not having the kid here to fit.

the dress with the apron over it

the dress with the cap hanging from the hanger top

the dress on zoe, with zoe looking a little worse for wear :wink5:

I saw many videos. She's adorable. Doesn't seem she should be old enough to be in school, not even kindergarten. Time flies.

I have to pop in and say I was tickled to see how exited Zoe was in the program. Made me giggle to see her having so much fun... :)

she is in k-4.  kinder is this fall.  if they can fight with the system.  she's academically ready but there is some debate on her maturity/speech patterns... we'll see.

I miss Triss.  Does anyone hear from her anymore?

I machine stitched on a binding on a blanket.  I used some of my striped quilting cotton.  It looks good.  There are bobbles at one end but i'm ignoring them.

I'm working on the binding of a second blanket I'm going to do those the same way I do quilts.  Machine stitch one side and then hand stitch the other side.

i'm so lazy.  i did the same thing on the second one that I did on the first one  Naughty me.  But i have to admit that these homemade bindings look a thousand times better than the commercial rayon-y ones.

one more pass and I'm done on the blankets.  i'm not sure why I'm more interested in doing repairs right now than working on the quilts but i'm going with it.

last pass on the binding still bobbled.  I'm wondering if the walking foot would have improved things.  To late now all the blankets are done.  i'm happy about that.
