The latest thing around here, and I'm sure we're way behind other regions of the world, is that kids are snorting nutmeg which can cause hallucinations.  Until recently packets of certain herbs were being sold in stores to be used an incense (right) but it's in the paper today that these packets have been banned.  Guess the kids got wind that was going to happen and are now just plain raiding their moms spice racks. stars

I know.  It is sad.  We better be suspicious of teenagers who all of a sudden want to become bakers of cookies and cakes.

It is scary all that parents need to be on the lookout for these days.

I saw news stories on both of these things just the other day. I had heard about the incense being smoked in place of marijuana (and subsequently being scheduled as a drug which you can be charged with a crime for possessing). But the nutmeg thing was a surprise to me.  I remember back in the 70s when kids were sniffing anything aerosol. Had a couple of neighborhood kids die from it.

Every generation is something new or rehash of old. Parents need to stay on top of things.

There is always something to watch out for. It is hard to keep our kids safe. And all of the info is a fingertip away on the internet.
