I Touch
« on: Dec 31, 2010, 07:51:56 PM »
My sister called and told me to run out and buy an I Touch so I can play Scrabble with her and my other sisters.  She said I can do email, facebook, play games, check the internet and whatever I want on an I Touch and can use it at places that offer free WiFi.  I called Ginger and she says it's too small for her to use easily for things except playing games.  Any comments from this peanut gallery?

My daughter loves hers. But it is too small for me to really enjoy.
(P.S. I really think you would probably prefer one of the readers.)

No but you will have books at your fingertips and won't need to play games.
I hope someone can come up with an answer. When Jonni got her 3G phone, she pretty much gave up her i-touch, I think. I haven't seen it in a while.

I think the iTouch would be too small.  I got a Nook for Christmas and love it!  It also has WiFi.  So, if they are going to a certain website to play scrabble, you surely could do that.  Mine came with sudoku and chess on it.  I don't know yet if I can get more games or not.  With the Nook, you could lend books to others for 14 days.  Loz got one too so we are looking forward to sharing books.

Is this what you are talking about?

Seems kind of expensive to get just to play games.  Course I paid more than that for my computer and can't take it in a pocket anywhere.

An iTouch is that pretty much without the phone. It is an iPod with internet capability so you can play music or games.

Jenn, it does not have a back light.  You can buy a light for it though.  The point in not having the backlight is that it is as close to a book as possible.  It is not like looking at a computer screen which I like.  They call it e-ink technology.  It looks pretty close to a book page.

I don't want it to read books.  I just want to be able to play Scrabble with my sisters.  I need to ask one of them what they've got.  Maybe it's the link that Jim gave.  I'll check.

Dan uses his regular computer to play scrabble online.  He plays with people all over the world.
