Last night we had elk stew. Tonight is more than likely leftovers.

It was my first time eating the elk meat. And it was good. I didn't think it tasted a whole lot different than beef. James says it tastes better. One thing is that it is much leaner. We have a whole freezer full of it so it is a good thing that I like it. I will make some jerky with some of that too.

Sounds like a good plan. I am glad you like it as well since you have so much of it. Did any of it get ground up for burgers? My neighbor also says he likes his best as when done like chicken fried steak.

We have not yet but that is our plan, Triss. We just talked about it last night. James kind of wanted to wait until the butchers were done with their venison rush that happens in the fall. Now he wants me to research and find the best place.

Penny, James had an elk burger when he was in North Dakota on his elk hunting trip. He said it was excellent. After we get the burger made, I am thinking I won't have to buy red meat for quite a while.
Wrennie, your dinner sounds yummy!
We are having general tso's chicken.
