Doc says I need a low fat diet.  In another words 100 grams of fat or less per day.

Now if I fry foods which has always been my choice I'm way over.  If I don't snack on meats or fry I'm way under.  So I'm looking for recipes and tips that will help me stay under without feeling like I'm being punished.  Do you know what I mean?

Here are some questions.  Can I use the spray oil for cooking eggs so they won't stick?  And is that any better than using oil and frying them?

How do I manage to cook a steak without turning into shoe leather which is what I get when I bake them?

How do I grill chicken indoors?

And of course what low-fat recipes do you have that are so great you have them regularly even when fat isn't an issue?

You can use the spray oil, but be sure to use the good oil. You can get olive oil in spray can.

What I do for breakfast is use the Pam Spray Olive Oil and fry a whole egg - white and yolk - plus one egg white.

Buy Tyson frozen chicken breasts in a bag.  I think it comes 6 or 10 to a bag, individually wrapped - don't cost a lot.  You don't have to defrost them.  Just take them out of their wrapping, rinse under cold water and I put them in a cooking dish with a little olive oil, salt and pepper and bake them for about 20 minutes.  They're tender and good.  Steam some broccoli and you've got yourself a great meal.  That type of chicken is always fork tender.  Some of the Tyson frozen chicken breasts come in some sort of marinade.  I've never tried it.  We like it plain.

I'm with Jessica about broiling steaks.  Bake them for a while then turn on the broiler.  Or do you have an outside grill?

It will be easier than you think when you start thinking about how you're cooking.

I have a small nonstick pan that I use only for cooking eggs. Nothing else is allowed in it. just a spritz of spray and it works well. When you use your egg pan for cooking anything else it ruins it for eggs. I have a slightly larger nonstick pan that I have only used for omelets over the years.
Good luck, Tammy.

I'll have to buy a broiler pan I don't have one at the moment.

I do have a little table top b-b-q but I've never used it and I'm not sure I would know how.  I guess I'll be learning.

I don't use a broiler pan for anything except hamburgers.  I cook in a shallow baking dish that way the oil stays in the pan.

Tammy, it's Perdue Boneless,Skinless Chicken Breasts and comes 5 to a pack.  I'm cooking some now.

Each breast = 1.5 grams of fat
Long Grain Brown Rice 1/4 cup = 1 gram of fat  (I'm cooking 1 cup for both of us)
Great Northern Beans = 0 fat
1 tbs Olive Oil = 14 grams of fat

You can probably use less Olive Oil but this time I am cooking all the breasts because I'm going to make myself chicken salad for lunch tomorrow.

So all the breasts will be cooked you so you won't have to worry about fat if you warm them back up tomorrow.

And sometimes instead of white beans I put green peas in the rice.

Low fat isn't so much a problem for me as is low sugar.  I drink Pepsi way too much which doesn't have fat but sure is full of calories.
