Our weather staying is always telling us that if you can hear thunder, lightning can strike you... SmileyFear

Last thunder shook the house a bit, went out and heard nothing. Cloudy, 55°F, no wind.

Yup. If you can hear it, its close enough to hit you. That being said, I understand where he's coming from. Thunder is not often heard in the northwest. At least not in the part I lived in. I actually missed it when I was there.

Here it rained good at the beginning of the day, then the sun came out and it got hot and steamy, then rained lightly at the end of the day.

Cloudy, 54°F, no wind.

Thunderstorms don't happen much around here, though we do get bad ones at times. Tornadoes also, not the same as east of the rockies, but damaging the same. Usually go out and watch the light show when it happens, I'm not out in the open, nor under a tree.

Rain this morning so heavy the truck in front of me was nothing but a shadow, even with his lights on. Harrowing drive to work. Finally quit about 9 a.m. Overcast all day and now darkening with thunder rumbling.

We are headed back to the triple digits today and tomorrow.  It's 97 now and has been steadily climbing since about 7 this morning.

It made it up to 99.9 today here. I don't know what the heat index was... hot

The humidity doesn't help at all, Tina...

No it doesn't. My coolers do not function as well when it is humid.
