I like northern styled cornbread soaked in milk yum.  I like southern cornbread with my bean soup.  I think if I show up at the fish fry with northern style they will toss me out on my can.  I hope the recipe on the back of the package of cornmeal is a good one.  I'll know soon.

Since I didn't have everything on hand yesterday, I just fixed navy beans, rice, and cornbread. I will be trying that Congressional soup soon, though...Smiley

We will be going out tonight... wink5

The cornmeal had bugs in it.  It all went in the trash ewwwww.  So they are getting jiffy mix and now I have buttermilk that I can drink.  I know some people don't like it but I do so it's ok.

Bugs will almost always head for cornmeal first. And it goes rancid more quickly than other dry goods. I keep mine in the freezer. I also buy cornmeal for my garden. Some types of ants will carry it to their burrows then it will kill off the whole community in there. So get your back out of the trash and sprinkle it outdoors. The weevils that like the dry stuff won't fare so well out in the open. You can sprinkle it in your compost pile if you would like.

I finished off the bangers and mash and I'm still hungry.  I guess I'll just go to bed and save the hunger for breakfast.

Soup sounds soooo good.

I'm making quick and easy ranch chicken, with salad and some other veg on the side...
