I was so cold at work yesterday that I wore the fingerless mitts.  I think I need to make more just for that reason.  I can knit with them on at the ice rink too.

Very nice! I cut the finger tips out of a pair of gloves because my hands get cold when I type.

I'm tempted to knit every once in a while.

Good job Jessica.  Can you take you a heater to work?  It's terrible to have to work in the cold.

In one office I have full control of the thermostat so I am not cold there.  It is at the other office.  I don't have a heater there but I might bring one.  I bring a sweater to put over my legs and sometimes I wear gloves.  I do not like to be cold and I am someone who is cold a lot.

I can certainly relate. And I have no control in my office either. And we aren't allowed portable heaters. I have a blanket I took to work for my legs and wear a jacket. Not very professional looking, but if they want me better dressed, they need to keep it more comfortable in there.
Dear Lord, On this day, please wrap your arm around my shoulder and keep your hand over my mouth.  Amen

It's terrible having to wear gloves at work - been there done that.  I have a little heater in both my offices.  It's not the same as being warm but it's better than nothing.

Great job. I tried knitting once or twice, but I just couldn't hold the needles. Guess I'm all thumbs.

I did a sweater once.  I'm been thinking about trying some socks.  The ones from the store wear through so quickly.  Anyone have a pattern or know where a free pattern is?

I have some patterns, Tammy.  I could scan them and e-mail them to you if you want to give me your e-mail address.  Otherwise a good place to find patterns is www.ravelry.com.  There are tons of free knitting and crochet patterns.

Yes, I use 4 needles.  It is tricky at first but you get used to it.  I use 4 for mittens also.

I've made a crochet pattern for hunter socks so I'm good there.  I've decided to knit a sweater.  I did one years ago and it worked out well so I'm not anticipating any problems.  I won't be doing any fancy stitches just ribknit and stockinette.

It's progressing slowly.  I'd forgotten how much slower I am at knitting than I am at crochet.  Of course as warm as it is this winter I may have plenty of time to complete it.
