Tea
« on: Nov 03, 2011, 02:01:21 PM »

I mentioned on here a while back that I had bought and started drinking Tulsi Lemongrass Tea. It's advertised as full of antioxidants and all sorts of other healthy things.   My hands have been swelling up lately and my stomach has been bloated but I didn't relate it to the tea.  I finished my jug of tea and didn't make more so today I stopped at Burger King and got an unsweetened regular tea - whatever kind regular is.  I can already tell a difference in my ring fingers.  What do you think? waiting

I'm thinking lemongrass is not for you. Other teas are good for you. I like green tea pretty much only anymore.

sheri, it can easily be the tea, or something in the tea.  right about the time i was starting to feel better from the meds they had me on, i noticed that when i drank tea, i would start getting flushed and my face would itch.  i cut back on the tea (i was drinking it pretty much from morning till bed time prior to that) and told scott.  he told me i was crazy.  then one day we were running late and i didn't fix my tea at home.  and my face was as clear as it had been in a while.  we stopped at mcd's and i ordered an unsweet tea and they gave me a sweet one instead.  i told s not to worry, i'd drink it anyway, what i did not tell him was that i wanted to see if the red blotchy face was from the sweetener.  as i drank the tea, he watched my face go red and blotchy and said "d*** woman, are you allergic to that too?!!!"  then we both laughed and i haven't had another glass of tea since.  and now, except when i get too much sun, my face stays pretty clear.  not great but pretty close.

i found the blueberry and have tried one cup of it.  i'm concerned because all the blueberry i found has orange peel listed as an ingredient... i'm thinking the peel, dried, shouldn't have citrus acid in it... i'm hoping... first cup i did not react to.

The acid is concentrated in the peel. But if you don't react, that is a good thing.
