Always needing help. I'm pitiful.
« on: Nov 24, 2012, 02:47:31 PM »
From my camera I downloaded a bunch of pictures and put them in a folder of their very own under Pictures in my Documents file.  I tried to send this folder via email and I can't get the folder to send.  I can click OPEN which opens each picture and the entire file will email with the pictures open but the file won't email as a file to be opened.  Is that explanation understandable?  Need help - as always.

ZIP up the folder and send it, this turns it into one file. Size of the file would be determined by sizes of the photos within it.

Other than doing as William suggested, some email clients don't allow the attaching of "folders" to an email because of the potential of that folder containing malicious content.  Some even block the sending of zipped files.

Will zipping make the pictures smaller because I read if that happens then they picture quality is terrible if they're copied or printed?

If not, how do I zip it?

If you have Windows XP or newer, right-click the folder and hover send-to, click compressed (zipped) folder.

Thats how it is for XP Pro.

No it doesn't make the picture smaller.  Zipping compresses the file to make the file smaller to send and doesn't have any affect on the quality of the photo.

I have another questions Jim.  My screen has started going black.  I push the on off button and it comes right back on.  I was thinking I need a new computer until this morning when I noticed that it only  happens when I'm on your site.  Yesterday it took me several times to get here.  I kept getting a window that Southern Spirit Hunters wasn't available.

That's actually 2 different issues.

My screen has started going black.  I push the on off button and it comes right back on.

Monitors normally shut off if they don't "see" a video signal.  Check your connections.  It could be the monitor or the computer.

Yesterday it took me several times to get here.  I kept getting a window that Southern Spirit Hunters wasn't available.

We are all at the mercy of the internet.  Sometimes it takes longer to access things that it does others.  If it persists you can contact Dianna on Facebook.  I didn't have any other reports of issues yesterday.

I was having the exact same problem with my monitor once upon a time. Thankfully all I had to do was replace the monitor rather than the entire computer. Sounds to me like the monitor is going out. It probably just seems to be only on this site, but it will happen at others too.
Dear Lord, On this day, please wrap your arm around my shoulder and keep your hand over my mouth.  Amen
