I had breakfast with my friend who knitted the socks and she's going to help me restart mine.

I've started shaping the back of the armhole so I'm pretty far along.  The next sticking point will be the cuffs.  Getting them to work could be a major pain.  Cross your fingers for me.

I had to redo the cuffs.  I was so fixated on the point that I forgot the cuff had to go all the way around my wrist, lol.  I really felt like a ditz when I noticed what I had done on that one.  Fortunately those are very small and take no time to redo and I bought plenty of yarn so I'm still good on that.

Now we come to the sleeves.  Thank goodness someone over on ravelry reminded me that I could pin it together for a fitting.  I was so set on having the shoulder fitted that the armhole had no easment.  So I'm going to have to redo one sleeve altering the fit so there is room to move the arm around when I'm wearing it.  But I'm still happy overall with how it is comming.

One thing is for sure when I figure out this sleeve cuff pattern I'm going to use it over and over again.

I test fitted the sleeve and it works, yeah!  Now I'm working on the second sleeve.  Then it's all sewing and wearing.  Can't wait to get to that stage.

One sleeve sewn to one cuff and the other one pinned.  I've been really lazy about doing the sewing.  Funny because it isn't even that hard.  I'll get to it sometime today.

I have one of the gloves done and I've started the other one.  Should be done by the end of next week.

Then I designed something for the Febuary Design It! Challenge.  It's a "cute" muffler in pale pink (hope I can find the yarn I want) and cream, with a lace heart, and garten cord pattern on each end.  So after I finish the glove I'll be making that up.  After that it's back to finishing the sweater.  And then I should be able to go back to the sock pattern that is waiting for me.  Boy that sounds like a lot.

Ok, I went to Wal-Mart today and the pink yarn that I visualized was right there.  So I'm in good shape for the challenge.

I just need more time.  That's the first time I've said that since retirement.

Not a muff, a muffler, a 6 foot long retangular scarf.  Sorry if I confused you with my terminalogy.

tammy, i had to read back to see you wrote muffler instead of muff.  but it does sound cute.  i don't know what you mean by the garden cord design though.  you will have to explain that further to me.  i am interested.  i bet i will like it when you are done. you  have very nice design ideas.

I'm getting far enough along that I'll be taking an "in-process" picture soon.  Ok the "garten" stitch or "garter" stitch is where all the bumps are on the right side of the work.  It is the reverse side of the stockinette stitch.  If it is done just a few rows with stockinette stitch done on either side of it the stitch looks like a little cord detail.  Very cute and simple once you get the hang of it.

The heart didn't come out as well as I had hoped but it's recognizable.  I had some problems with getting the garter on the correct side on this one.  That's what I get for changing idea's half way through.  There was a lot of frogging going on at that point.

I did learn a new stitch.  It is called a drop stitch.  I'm using it for some texture in the long pink part.  I'm not sure it is showing up that well but it is called for in the attributes for the challenge.

The Valentine Pink & Cream Muffler is finished.  I couldn't be happier that it is finished.  But I still need to work on how to make the perfect heart.  Or look at someone elses pattern.

Well having finished that project I went back to the black glove pattern.  This time I did it flat rather than in the round and that fixed all the problems except the gauge.  What the designer says will fit and adult won't with me doing the knitting.  So I'm going to have to enlarge it some.  But the first pair are for a teen so they should be fine.  I sewed up the back, did the horizontal gather at the top, and sewed on the button.  I think it looks good.  I've started on the second one.

You know I put the picture for the one described above over in crochet.  I'm just not very clear on things lately.  Maybe they should start checking me for strokes.

Anyway here are some pictures of my knits.
