Thank you both.  I'm doing another pair of the black and white fingerless gloves.  This next pair is for a 14 year old and uses a clear flower button for the center piece.  They work up very quickly once I understood what to do.

Thank you.

I have 9 other patterns for fingerless gloves that I want to make over time.  They are definitely a thing for me.

Using different stitches or changing the pattern itself?  I'm not sure what I'm trying to ask.

if you are asking what i think you are asking sheri, that is the right question.  either the actual pattern/design, or using different stitches and/or color combos.  i know there are a couple different options for them.  but i do like them.  i keep thinking i'll make me some, but i never get that far.  not to mention, mine would never look that good!

Ok you two have gotten me confused, never hard to do.

If I'm completely off base just ignore me.

Pattern = Set of written directions on how to make something.

I have 10 favorites saved that are fingerless gloves each very different.

I've made two pairs of gloves using one of the patterns.

I plan to make 2 more pairs of gloves from the same pattern for a total of 4 pairs of gloves.  Each of them will be for a different person and each will have a different button.

The other nine patterns are fingerless gloves that I like and wouldn't mind having myself.  Of course no one needs 10 pairs of fingerless gloves.  But one pair of gloves for each coat and an extra pair for my purse wouldn't go amiss would it?

Thanks I think.  Not be a crafty person I can't wrap my mind around 10 different ways to make gloves.  I can see that some gloves might end up with stripes and some might end up with stars or buttons, but I can't visualize a totally different looking glove.  Don't listen to me.  I'm nuts.

If you search fingerless gloves over on ravelry you will come up with 100's of different patterns.  Some of it has to do with stripes and such as you mentioned.  So has to do with ruffles at the cuff or along the side of the glove, some has to do with different stitchs so that some look lacy while others look like good winter gloves.  As many ways as you can picture gloves there can be that many patterns.  Believe me I have days when I can't wrap my head around given idea's as well.  I proved that today when I was trying to teach fraction subtraction to my student.  She had to be very patient with me.

I'm working on it!  I've sewn up one side of the mayhem sweater and I've pinned the final side.  As soon as I come off of the computer I'll go right back to it and finish up the last side.  I'm excited.  I hope I like it when I'm done.

Don't be happy for me yet.  I haven't finished it.  I'm closer but I've got probably two lengths of yarn to sew in before it is finished.  I know it would only take a few minutes but I've got such a head cold that even my hearing is affected.

The Sweater is Finished!  I'm so glad.  I made a mistake on the sleeves but I can live with 3/4 sleeves.

THE NEXT KNITTING PROJECT!

I'm going to modify the dragonfly fingerless glove pattern and do it in a matching yarn with the valentine's day muffler.  Just because I think they are sooooooo romantic.

Thanks all.

The sweater is going to get an accessory.  I'm going to do hankerchief lace underpined to the cuff in order to lengthen it and to add that romantic touch.  Also I'm going to get black elastic thread to tighten up the cuff.  They came out way loose and they shouldn't have they are 40 stitches around which should be perfect for the wrist.

So today I plan to do some typing.  I've noticed that once I do a pattern that there is an easier way to note it.  You know rather than describing every stitch I can say rib knit rows 2 through 19 or something like that.  It really shortens up the directions.  So I'm going to do that with all the patterns that I've done so far.  Including getting my own patterns in the computer.  This will be much nicer than digging through my paper files.

I finished the first dragonfly gloves and there are some problems.  One the cuff is two inches which doesn't look anything like the picture.  So I'm going to modify it to 3 inches and it doesn't lay flat with a ruffle like the picture so I'm going to increase the outer edge to 104 stitches.  Other than that the rest of it looks good.  I'm going to complete the other glove like the one I have finished.  I can always use them for a gift to someone.
