Ok, about the crochet - lol - I finished the fedora last night.  It took a skein and a half of wool.  Today it is raining so no washing machine.  But as soon as it has stopped long enough I'll put it in the washer and begin the felting process.  I've got to say I'm excited.

The bed scarf is getting pretty close to completion.  I hope it works out the way I'm thinking.

The fedora is great.  I probably washed it to long and it shrunk more than it should have but I don't care.  I know how to felt.  And it is great!!!

There will be future felting projects.  I just wish wool wasn't so expensive.

Future expense - Flashing so that I can make a hat block that is the perfect size.  There will be more hats now that I can make exactly what I want.  Picture me dancing around the computer.  I know bad idea.

tammy, having it coming out just like you want is great.  you can't ask for much better than that.  a happy dance is in order.

i did dish cloths today.  2 of them.  one i have to finish yet, i need to get some cotton yarn the right color for the edging.  but i'm happy with the results.  and ellie did a baby wash cloth (she planned a dish cloth but between not making it big enough to start, and pulling her stitches too tight) and started a dish cloth. so she's getting there.

So cool.  I'm finding that using the #3 cotton thread for the edging is keeping the size and shape so that it doesn't stretch when it gets wet.

I can't believe I had to go out and buy the little crochet hooks.  I just gave away a set a year or so ago because I don't use them anymore and then I come up with two projects that call for them.  Well I have them now.  I bought a black with silver metalic acrylic thread to make a crocheted lace with for the cuffs of the back sweater.  Wish me luck on this.  I can see black worth a darn and with thread it is even worse.

I'll put the butterfly up here to and some other things I've done.

This is my hanging barette holder.  I have a bunch of hair ornaments and I couldn't find them all in the basket so I did this to organize the ones that were smaller.

That barrette hold is a cute idea. I could use something like that. I can relate to not being able to find my hair barrettes/clips.

It's just double crochet I think about 10 across.  The vertical spaces are wide enough that the sticks and barettes can go through them to hold them in place just incase the holder isn't thick enough to hold them in place.

I did it 4 feet long because the ceiling is canted and is about 9 feet tall at that point.

i like the barrette holder.  when the girls were young, i took some leftover yarn and made 2 braids, one for each, about 3 feet long, and tied a ribbon at the bottom (the yarn was wrapped around a white plastic ring at the top) for their bows, barrettes, and ribbons.  by braiding it loosely, i could slip the barrettes in like you were talking about.

and the fedora is nice. if i wore hats... other than my sun hat!

I know I'm crazy about hats but they aren't crazy about me -  Unfortunately.

I love sun hats too and plan to make some of those too.

I did the cuff wrong.  Now I need to redo it.  And I don't want to rip it out.  Grrrrrh.  I think I'll put that project in time out for the time being.

i'm not big on crocheted sun hats. at least not out of yarn, i'm thinking about trying my hand at one made of raffia.  the yarn ones are just too hot down here.

Absolutely.  Let me know how the raffia one works out for you.

Have you tried the #3 Crochet Thread?  That can be done in openwork crochet and should give you the coolness you need.   Of course you'll have to really stiffen it; something, I always have trouble with myself.

Um, I'm not touching that line.

I made my first shoe last.  It's a form for the felted slipper to shape to once it is felted.  I'll do the other one tomorrow.  It sure uses up the plastic bags.

The gutter is the natural home of my mind.  Nothing slips by me for the most part.

The crochet is an absolute clog in my crafting right now.  And it's because I can't come up with the right look for what I want.  You know those movies about the 17th century where the guy is wearing a jacket and there is lace falling over his hand?  I want something like that but not over my hand but down my arm.  Maybe I need to gather heavily or do layers?  Help!  I'm stuck.

It's a frog.  That's all there is to it.  So I'm changing out the cuffs for some sun visor covers for the car.  What is up there is disintergrating and I have some left over pink so the car is getting a make over.  At least a little one.  Wish me luck.

I measured the sun visors.  They are 7" x 14 1/2" and of course the 7 needs to be doubled.  So I did a seven inch chain and then crocheted in the round using both sides of the chain to make a closed bottom.  I'm doing the entire thing is sc so nothing fancy.  I love the idea though.
