I managed to do a few things.  I planted what I had in pots and put them on the deck rail.  I want to get one more flower box for that area.

Today I planted the ranunculus upside down.  I'll have to sift through the dirt and see if I can find them and plant them right side up.  That sure does explain why I haven't had any success with them to date.

very awesome.

I bought a gorgeous red azalea.  I can't wait to get it in the ground.  I hope it does well.

Hope your azalea looks great for you duh.  I think they're so pretty when they're blooming but I don't like them when they're not.  The flowers do pretty well when you just break off a small branch and stick it in water for your house.

I agree Sheri, the flowers are pretty but the bush isn't so much when its not in bloom.

There are two types.  One is very large has invasive roots and is always leggy looking.  I got the compact one that is easy to keep in a nice ball shape.  As long as I do the pruning right after it flowers.

Yep pruning is the key.  Some are early bloomers some are late.  Do you know which you bought?

This one is currently in bloom so I'm going to say it is of the later variety since the one that I have already has finished blooming.  But that's just a guess.  It could be that it was forced or something.

I took the trimmer out for a spin.  I got around the trees and around the roses and along the flower beds.  So the front is ready to mow when I can talk someone into starting the mower.

Well I still haven't found anyone to start my mower.  So I'm just doing the yard a little bit at a time with the trimmer.  This seems to be my modius operandi.  Anyway, I have started the compost count down.  I have sifted about 15 gallons of finished compost It has gone in the tires for the peppers and tomatoes, the new bed for the dwarf sweet cherry and the birdbath flower bed.  The compost has about 1 worm per shovelful so I'm considering that a big win.  Since I had no worms when I started.

My neighbor dug up some rocks while he was excavating his rose garden.  He said I could have them so I hope to get that done in the next few days.  Put them in my trunk and take them to my place.  I feel like I am doing a Jenn, lol.

Very good, Tammy. A good score on the rocks and worms are lovely.
I have been putting diatomaceous earth around my house today.

Our mower was broken too.  We've had it a while and have never had it serviced so I guess we shouldn't complain.  Got squash and green peas yesterday.  I need to cover the potatoes but Colt wants to help so I'm putting that off until he goes home.  He's helped in the strawberry patch until it will be a miracle if I get another strawberry this year.

I need ideas on how to keep the potato plants covered.  It's a never ending battle.

I've decided to take potatoes out of my diet with the diabetes.  We'll see how well I can stick to that resolution.  Lets see I almost have to do a week at a time.

Most of the front yard is trimmed except the very front portion.
The big rocks are around the birdbath flowerbed.  i still have some to place.  I'll probably work them in around the tree bed.

I've screened about 15 gallons of compost and place it mostly in the existing beds.

I've moved 66 gallons of leaves to the compost pile.

Did I mention that we took down the fence and I've put up rose trellises?

Also the two climbing peace roses aren't as advertised.  One is a red climbing tea rose and the other is a bush peace rose.  So it looks a little funny out front.

Grass cutting, wood piling, compost piling.
