Lawn Care Questions

It has rained everyday. Can I mow the yard when it is wet? Or do I do it in the middle of the day when it is incredibly hot? What should I do?

You can mow wet. It will not be as effective; grass lays down, machine clogs more, etc. But sometimes it beats the alternative of waist high growth and the things that brings along, chiggers and other beasties.

Mowing when it is wet can create issues but the alternative is maybe worse. I mowed around the house the other day when it was still damp. Just means it will take a bit more work to clean the mower after you get done. There are some areas that I normally mow with a tractor and those will just have to grow up till it is dry. The tractor will leave ruts that will be even harder to remove.
Sometimes you just have to do it!

duh, although I agree with Tina and Jim about the possibility of the alternative being worse, since you are your own everything I'd be careful about mowing when wet. If the mower clogs up a lot you'll be the one to fix it.

Not to mention the extra muscle required to mow wet grass, especially if it has gotten tall.

Thank you so much for the inside. Maybe I'll get a dry day soon.
The shed got 5 hornets nests in it. Talk about a population explosion. I ran out of hornet killer and now have to wait until wednesday to buy more.
