5 cups flour
1 tsp salt
6 Tablespoons Shortening
4 Tablespoons Sugar (I only use 2)
2 pkgs yeast
1/4 cup warm water
1 teaspoon soda
2 cups buttermilk
Mix flour, salt and shortening.
Dissolve sugar and yeast in water
Dissolve soda in buttermilk. (I warm by buttermilk)
Add to flour mixture. Roll out to any size you wish. Dip biscuits in melted butter and let rise 1 hour. Bake at 400 to 425 about ten minutes or less until golden brown.
